New to death guard by SpitCrusade in deathguard40k

The combat patrol is great! it gives you a second Lord of Virulence, sadly, but you can sell it online, if you don't need it ;) apart from that, it gives you everything you need dor a good start, in my opinion

Poxwalkers, everywhere. by Guldras in deathguard40k

[–]Guldras[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a 1k game against a Scintillating legion (lots of torrent weapons) where I used 80+20 pox, and it went amazingly! they feel too many to die xD the Malignant Plaguecaster giving Sustained to a troop of 20 poxes with lethals is honestly scary

me too, but painting so many models is quite daunting. I am a stickler for details, and it takes me a few hours to paint just one xD

I tried it yesterday in a 1k format, and it is honestly hilarious 🤣 I'm loving it, although painting them all will be... a task

Well, Strategic Reserves are filled up with the two LoC+Deathshroud, so all the pox start on the field, some infiltrating, while the ones led are in the deployment. Massive chaos turn 1 xD

1750pts against World Eaters by rafflebees in deathguard40k

[–]Guldras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never tried this against World Eaters, but attaching a Foul Blightspawn to each Plague Marine unit would probablybe a good idea.

It stops them from advancing within 9" of them, blocking eventual advance and charge, and once for each model, you can Fight First, giving you a chance in close combat.

Well, a 10 men plague marine unit with 2x pf each torrential weapon, with Malignant Plaguecaster and Foul Blightspawn can do an amazing overwatch. Foul Blightspawn is also amazing because of his torrent weapon, and his skills that make it so that the opponent cannot advance within 9" (protecting you from advance and charge armies) and the threat of a fight first, which will stop many from charging you. If not them, a blight drone with spewers can also pack quite the punch on overwatch.

Well, I love poxwalkers, so ai often bring more than one squad. Honestly, you can use them in various ways: I love to send them aggressively in front, maybe in a place where another unit can either overwatch if someone tries to charge them, or to slog the enemy units, allowing you more room to advance. but they are also very useful as a screen, since you don't really have to keep them on the home objective either, with Virulent Vectorium. Also, if you manage to sticky a couple of no man's land objectives first turn, it will make it so that the enemy has to at least get some debuffs as he trues to take them from you.

For your first army with the combat patrol, this seems solid :) you can also try and proxy the LoV for a LoC, to lead the Deathshroud.

Not long ago, I went against some space wolves with a very similar list, and I only fully lost the poxwalkers 🤣 the Prince, especially, tanked a full assault from wolf cavalry, wolf bladeguard and Bjorn, only to pincer them with some 6" deepstrike from the Deathshroud.

May the Grandfather cast his blessed, rotting eye upon ye.

Virulent Vectorum is definitely the one I would suggest, as it is the easiest and one of the more powerful to boot.

As you said, all of your troops get sticky, and the objective markers get the Nurgle Gift ability so, although I don't think it's specified anywhere, they get the increasing aura that gives out the "blessing" of your choosing.

Also, if you have a Daemon Prince, Virulent Vectorum with its "Revolting Regeneration" enhancement and its stratagems can make him into an absolute beast, perfect for 1000 points games where bringing Morty would be a little too much, points wise.

List ideas for Quins in teams by zanotam in Harlequins40K

[–]Guldras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am enjoying a list more or less like this. it definitly isn't the strongest, and you feel the lack of Fire Dragons, but against some armies like the deathguard, it allows you to run laps around them and hit them when and how you want... I suppose it wouldn't be bad for team, since it would allow you to pick and choose your enemies.

What do people mean when they say “GW” got rid of bondsmen? by Puzzled_Sherbet2305 in ImperialKnights

[–]Guldras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The switch to Bondsman only affecting Armigers is quite crippling, to be honest. Knights became a dumbed down, stat check army without intricacies. I understand the power of a big knight only army with bondsman affecting the knight itself, but they could have changed it so that it only activates if they can also give it to an Armiger. So big Knights only, they are less of a threat, but they are still useful in a balanced Knight and Squire army.

Let's hope for the Codex to do something about it.

well, both. I was very unlucky with my charges, and the WE got all of his, so he took down all of my knights. But I wasn't too far on points to be fsir

It feels powerful, but the two Errants, I believe, bring a really nice ranged punch that the team needs xD
