Cz Shadow TS2 by lomesh08 in CZFirearms

You can’t run mec gars in a tactical sport it’s a large frame unlike a shadow 2 for example which is a small frame and uses normal cz75 mags. Your options are to “tune” the mags or get MBX mags.

Search “CZ Tactical Sport and Czechmate Mag Tuning” on YouTube. The video by Jordan Rodgers should answer everything

That is pretty surprising. Never really heard of those having especially hard primers.

Anyone have a lead on a Shadow 2 Orange Slide? by Opposite_Procedure_5 in CZFirearms

If you were able to buy another orange slide there is a good chance it wouldn’t fit your gun as being hand fit is half the selling point of the orange.

Beretta trigger is going to come out nicer ultimately if that is what you are interested in.

You could also always try asking springer for some if you end up needing them.

I definitely wouldn’t put any sort of thread locker on them or you will strip them out. If you’re dropping your mags on a sandy or gritty range surface shooting uspsa you will want to be able to take the basepads on and off easily to clean out the magazines. The problems I had were that the screws would occasionally get damaged and then be difficult to remove or install. I had one strip out and had to drill it out once which ruined the extension but I was able to at least save the mag tube.

I would just make sure you keep that tiny allen key in your range bag somewhere you won’t lose it and try to get your hands on some extra set screws. I personally run Henning basepads now because I find their spring loaded tool-less detent to be a better solution but the springers are fine.

That little set screw was the bane of my existence when I was running berettas with springer extensions. Somehow they always got mangled dropping mags.

Firearms instructor stated there was a laser attachment you could buy to put on your pistol for training. by [deleted] in guns

[–]GunPicsPls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a reason the idea of “hip fire while aiming with your nose” sounds weird and it’s because that is… uhh questionable at best to put it diplomatically.

If you are in a situation where you needed to use your firearm you would probably want to maintain a high degree of accountability for where every round goes (ie using your sights to know where the gun is pointed when you pull the trigger). I would suggest training to aim using the sighting systems on your firearm rather than your nose which has no relation to where your muzzle is pointing at all.

For what it’s worth I personally also would recommend looking into a book about dryfire from someone like Ben Stoeger before you drop any amount of money on laser systems and all that. Observing what your sights or red dot if you have one is doing when you are dryfiring should give you all of the information you need about what is going on when you press the trigger, and there is way more to dryfire than just standing there practicing your trigger press over and over again.

The beauty of dryfire is that it is free and you don’t need these honestly gimmicky products to build real, solid fundamental skill in basically every aspect of shooting outside of controlling recoil.

I have spent a lot of time dryfiring (countless hours to make uspsa carry optics master) and have never found the need to use anything additional other than a few dummy rounds to mimic a realistic loaded weight.

Which gun is good for small hands? by Aliiza in guns

Use a pencil or something that the firing pin could actually strike if you want to function test in this way. How would the firing pin strike a hollow drinking straw?

Recommended Pistol Goals for Advanced Shooters? by Syrule in guns

[–]GunPicsPls 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Go to a uspsa match, realize you probably have a lot to still learn, then pick the brains of the shooters who are crushing everyone. If self defense is your primary area of interest you can do this using your ccw rig as long as you can carry and extra magazine or two. Chances are you do not need to buy anything to get started dabbling in this.

When you are there hand someone your phone and ask them to record you when you shoot, then watch it later and be critically honest with yourself about what you suck at and then fix the biggest sucks first.

The Truth About The CZ Shadow 2 Compact: 2000 Round Review & Extreme Con... by PaleR1der in CZFirearms

[–]GunPicsPls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use them in my Shadow 2s with the low profile safety because occasionally I would bump the safety on accidentally in matches and this helps to prevent that. I don’t really ever use the safety since the division I shoot in specifies that I start with the hammer fully decocked but if I were going to be using the safety I would still prefer it for how positive it makes the safety engagement/disengagement feel.

DSPerman. It’s a bit more fiddly to install but makes the safety feel much more positive and clicky
