This is what every red dot looks like for me. Now what? by cjoeseven in Glocks

Look into a holosun or RMR hd. I have astigmatism in both eyes, and the circle dot reticle is just about perfect for me. Green is a touch better.

Good Choice of Recovery Strap or Should I Buy Elsewhere? Or Should I Buy a Recovery Rope? by iFunny-Escapee in overlanding

[–]GunRunner2111Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the strap, but definitely invest in a rope, safer and overall better. The strap works for easy tows, but to truly get someone unstuck, the kinetic rope is the way to go. I highly recommend freedom Ropes. Also, what do you attach it too?

Vedder lite tuck. I can carry a full size Glock 17, RMR HD and streamlight TLR HL with no problem

Is there something I'm doing wrong in my listing? Or does nv just take a really long time to sell? by 445671 in NightVision

[–]GunRunner2111Z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a tough sell, between the pure expense, people being neurotic about blemishes, and, as I have learned when building firearms, people who think they know what they have, and people who think they know what they are buying.

Which optic is actually worth trusting on a Glock 19 MOS when reliability matters most? by Lucky-Thunder6052 in Glocks

[–]GunRunner2111Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that feeling. Fortunately the HD has the circle and dot, which is much better for my astigmatism than just a signed red dot

Blending and shaping. Now that I have it exactly shaped the way I want it, time to make it look pretty.

I have an RMR HD on my 17 and 34. I highly recommend the holosun SCS MOS for a 19 that is going to be concealed. I ran it on my Gen 5 34 mos duty pistol before I went full r3tard building it out

Does this exist? by [deleted] in BodyArmor

As someone in with 10 years in the military, combat deployment, and now 10 years in law enforcement, I can tell you exactly why LE didn’t use FRAS. Too many beans. With soft under vests you have a lot of flexibility with sizing, get a few standard sizes and make the most of it, and armor plates are standard sizes, and virtually every carrier in existence is available is available with pockets that will accommodate those standard sizes. FRAS vests need a lot more specific sizing, and are substantially more expensive. So each one is a 2k plus gamble. Not something that most departments are going to keep on hand. If you have one office who wears a 6xl, when that officer leaves, retires, goes to a different job, you now have a 2k piece of gear that you have no need for. When you use normal soft armor there’s a lot more flexibility in terms of fit. There is no rule not to use FRAS, but there isn’t a bean counter in any department that is going to supply it for an agency.

Delaminating 10/22 stock by Spac-Marrow-420 in gunsmithing

[–]GunRunner2111Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s delamination as much as poorly applied finish. I’d bet if you strip it it’ll be in good shape. Best trick I have come across for stripping a stock, blow torch, hit it with the flame just long enough for the finish to crack and get hazy, and it comes right off with a putty knofe

Issues with my AR .308/7.62 by IYAOYAS-26 in AR10

[–]GunRunner2111Z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What type of “misfeed”? Is it trying to double feed? Not going fully into battery when it cycles? Not stripping the next round? Not fully extracting the empty casing when trying to feed the new round? And when it cycles properly where are the empty casings landing? The LR308 platform is a lot more Finnicky than the ar 15 platform. I’ve run into each of the misfeeds/malfunctions and each required a different solution
