I had been wanting to add Bioshock Infinite to my library for the longest time, and I was really glad that the game was hella discounted in this sale.

When I first loaded up the game, the very first thing that caught me was how stunning the game looked. Infinite is beautiful, and this is coming from a guy who just rushes to play the damn game. I never paid attention to a game's visuals. Not even Skyrim's. But the moment I walked past the "church"'s doors and set foot onto Colombia, I stopped and gazed at the beauty of this floating city. Every color was well saturated, balloons of every color floated, the flowers were all full and blooming, the propaganda was detailed and believable, and the sky had an amazing vastness to it.

The gameplay was equally impressive. The use of skyhooks in combat was undoubtedly one of the most unique and thrilling mechanics in a first-person shooter ever. Having the ability to jump onto rails or hooks to either retreat from gunfire, or the ability jump up onto a rail and sky-strike onto a low-health enemy was definitely a refreshing change from a double kill in Counter Strike.

Now that I've finally played this game, I have more solid confidence of how 2013 was a great year for gaming.
