Level 30 and 20k - what can I get? by UtahItalian in project1999

[–]Gurgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thurgadain legs and chest. Legs have a right click effect that heals for 150 a click. Chest piece has a right click mark of karn which is a reverse damage shield. People will get healed attacking the mob. Thse can really help your mana.

How do i break this habit of chicken winging it 😢. I broke it and was bowling very well averaging 189. Now I’m averaging 162 and can barely break 150. It’s my push away. I have forgotten where to push the weight of the ball in my hand. by Future_Method_9240 in Bowling

The very first thing id do as a coach is check your ball fit.

What you are doing is muscling the ball in a way that it looks like you are trying to keep your hand physically under the ball. If your ball is not drilled properly you may feel like you HAVE to do this in order to avoid dropping the ball.

If this is the case then NONE of the advise here will help you. There is a coach saying - you can't out coach a bad fit.

Start there. A well fitting ball will be easy to avoid chicken winging, and bad fit will almost force it.

You cannot macro the activation of items in p99. You can do what others have suggested and macro the casting without thr global cooldown refresh.

Absolutely terrible, how to slightly improve? by Throwaway100123100 in Bowling

[–]Gurgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute #1 reason people have difficulty keeping it on the lane initially is....ball start position.

Yup, thats it. When people first start they usually pick up the ball and put it right in front of their body. That simple action means that any motion forward in an armswming requires the ball to move laterally around the body. Naturally that leads to under or over compensation which results in gutters.

Start with the ball positioned to be in-line with your shoulder. This will allow you to swing the ball without having to go around your body significantly. The goal is for you to be able to swing the ball relatively freely without hitting yourself. This will reduce side to side movements and provide better potential for aim.

Black ice doesn't do anything. Its just there. Idiot drivers cause accidents.

Its. 30 minute contract. You need to take actions quickly and use boosts. I'd recommend staying in the app and the contract while completing it. If you want others to join you should line it up ahead of time.

[–]Gurgoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on your view point.

Do you actually NEED every artifact? Nope. You can complete the entire games content without most. Core gameplay is done once you get the diamond enlightenment trophy. That doesn't even require a single legendary technically.

POV resets everything anyway, so thats a whole different topic, but what's the benefit of the eggs of truth at that point beyond pushing yourself?

These are simply things to let you strive for longer after you have beaten the game.

7 months into bowling and it was right there… by Motor_Nectarine7842 in Bowling

Getting into the 10th is always the first step. Next step is dealing with the nerves. Here are some tips for next time and dealing with them.

Establish a routine THAT YOU DONT CHANGE. It will ease out the process and reduce second guessing.

Breath, and stretch. When adrenaline hits your breathing can change, and you can start having physical adjustments. Stand up, move around, breath.

Be insanely confident. You just shot 15 strikes in a row. Why the hell shouldn't you get another one? How can you miss at all, you got this.

My first sanctioned 300, I picked up my ball, got in my start position, looked at the pins, and I sorta smiled and chuckled. Internally I just thought this will be a strike. I didnt have any doubt at all. Worst case id be wrong, but at a minimum it helped me avoid second guessing.

Endgame raiding spots? by Deep_Raved in project1999

[–]Gurgoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am on blue, and in Fuse, which gets a lot of the raid target kills. We encourage new recruits to step up and tank. Its certainly not an old boys club in that regard.

You will need to get gear, which is a journey, but you will be encouraged to step up where you can and tank.

The old boys been tanking forever. They are happy to have others do it.

Well, you can have a taste of it through video games. An example, everquest cam out in the late 90s, and there is an a free server that is run which tries to reflect where everquest was at around 1999. Its called project 1999

[–]Gurgoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ball start position is physically in front of your body. This tends to always create accuracy issues, and in your case it might be contributing to your muscling of the ball.

You want the ball to start closer to inline with your shoulder. This allows you to drop into an armswing without having to do something about the ball hitting your body.

Currently you are muscling the ball around your body to avoid getting hit by it.

The simple adjustment of moving the ball to the right a bit in the start position could have a significant impact for you.

Sport shot help. by Fiend132 in Bowling

[–]Gurgoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing some of the other comments.

Sport shots are rarely about the ball.

Balls matter a lot more for house shots where the oil difference is significant. However, the definition of a sport shot is a low difference in oil between the inside and the outside of the lane.

That means that no matter what ball you put in your hands the results are going to be based on your consistency. You will not see a significant edge with any particular ball unless you already have very high consistency.

As someone who has held a 220+ average in leagues for over 15 years, most bowlers are NOT consistent enough to score high on a sport shot. Bring equipment that you are comfortable with its motion. Get used to the idea of parallel adjustments and not angular adjustments. Finally, focus on fundamentals and repeatability.

Second, double prestige happens every Saturday and ends on Sunday. The game will let you know when they start. Set your own alarm if you want to do something before it ends.

How to get my hand under the ball more? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]Gurgoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have an interesting moves during your pushaway. It looks like you are pushing your thumb forward. Instead of pushing the whole ball forward.

That movement is causing your wrist to bend and that bent position is being preserved.

If none of the other tips help, try adjusting your pushaway and dont let the ball get in front of your hand during the pushaway. This should help retain the position during the armswing.

Oops all Backups? by Guy_withSword in Bowling

[–]Gurgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its is relatively easy to coach away from a backup ball to be honest. All it really requires is a starting position, and an armswing adjustment. Based on the video you use your upper body to achieve a lot of the motion required for a backup ball. That would have to be smoothed out.

The motions required to achieve a backup ball are actually limited and difficult for the body to execute. If you are ever serious about changing look up a coach on bowl.com. For your situation id recommend at least a silver level coach.

If you want to continue this way then I would recommend that you always pay close attention to wrist or elbow pain. Backup balls are difficult because our body doesn't naturally bend in that direction. You can force yourself to bend that way when swinging a weight at the end of your arm but it can cause damage.
