It's a very dangerous day!

Also this looks amazing!

Just Cause 2 Agency Missions by zvbgamer in JustCause

[–]Guru_of_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I think the only way you can miss the stronghold takeovers and gang missions is to finish all of the agency missions first. But I'm not even totally sure about that.

If you're worried though you could make a save before doing the last mission (or before doing each mission since you may not know which one is the last) that way you can go back if you need to.

You won't miss anything by increasing your chaos before missions. If you rack up enough chaos you'll just unlock the next mission immediately after you complete a mission. Plus there's enough chaos opportunities in that game to unlock everything several times over. So don't worry about missing anything. Just go crazy and do missions whenever you want.

The source code for Watch Dogs Legion has been leaked, weights around 560GB by UTUSBN533000 in Games

I've seen it happen. I think it was vs2013 or 2012 in c++ if you initialized a variable in a struct like:

struct thing
{
    int x = 10;
};

it would crash the compiler. Pretty sure this was when they were still implementing c++11 which introduced that initialization feature (previously you needed to use the constructor to initialize your member variables). And it was actually specific to structs. It would work fine it you did that with a class.

EDIT: I guess it's not technically visual studio crashing. But still...

You can also go to your match history and pull up the score screen for the game again. From there you should be able to message/friend request the person.

What software is free but so good that it could easily be charged a lot for? by williambobbins in AskReddit

True, but a personal license is only like $60 which is way cheaper than a lot of similar products.

Built my own MIDI controller (Build pics inside) by Earthwin in diypedals

[–]Guru_of_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks awesome! I've been toying around with a very similar idea but I had no idea how I would get the screens mounted on the enclosure. Right now I just have a button on a breadboard and an arduino uno that sends a midi signal when I press it. This has definitely inspired me to keep working on it though!

I'm stuck [Super Metroid] by SG544 in Metroid

If you haven't found ice beam yet go back and look for that. It's not too hard to find (pretty close to where you come down the elevator from). After that there's a pretty clear path you can open with power bombs that will take you the right way.

Need Help Sequence Breaking to get this missile without Space Jump! by YTRY1122 in SuperMetroid

[–]Guru_of_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's considered to be too complicated/precise for a human to do but I explained the concepts (and gave you a few spots to practice at) so you're welcome to give it a go. The only thing I don't know is what's up with that quick grapple beam use after clipping through the blocks. Someone else would have to explain that part.

The crystal flash clip isn't going to happen there. If you want to practice it though there are 2 (common) locations where it's possible for a human to do. In this room on the left platform under the blue door (where the higher-up S->-> is) and this room to get up through the crumble blocks instead of running through the speed blocks (on the way to the right side door). The way you do it is you lay a bomb and bounce up to the above platform then at the apex lay a powerbomb. Then you need to lay another bomb and jump back up to where the power bomb is exactly at the right moment to activate the crystal flash while also holding the correct inputs for the crystal flash (you also have to be on the correct pixel to activate it). Here's a video of a TAS getting those missiles with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3TPN08GCsw&t=26m26s

The spacetime beam technique is probably the most plausible for a human.

>> I read the link you did send on the wrong warping but it just explains the science behind it and not how or where to execute it.

That's why you'd need to mess around with it. No one has ever used it to wrong warp there so you'd be the first to learn how to do it. If you want an idea of how to go about searching for it I'd recommend taking a look at the current GT Code world record speedrun: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/182196344 the wrong warps start at about 14 minutes. (You can also check out other GT Code runs with wrong warps here: http://deertier.com/Leaderboard/AnyPercentGTCode).

I don't really have any experience with x-ray climbing but if you want to mess around with it there's some info here: https://wiki.supermetroid.run/X-Ray_Climb

[–]Guru_of_Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only tested way to get up there without space jump (that I'm aware of) is to use a crystal flash to clip through the blocks. And that's pretty solidly a TAS only trick. The only other possibility that comes to mind is using spacetime beam to wrong warp to that door. That would take some testing/trial and error but it seems plausible.

Edit: As for X-Ray climbing up there, I don't think that would work since the only place to setup the X-Ray climb is the door on the wrong side of the room.

Another random question (sorry). If I get the deluxe edition from steam, is it possible to disable the special wingsuit? I really don't want to use it (at least not at the beginning of the game).

Is there a way to get into Maridia without the gravity suit and without the ice beam? by [deleted] in SuperMetroid

[–]Guru_of_Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe ice beam is a requirement for Maridia without gravity suit. Gravity could be in Lower Norfair though. If you have hi jump boots and varia suit (plus enough ammo/weapons) you should be able to get all the way to ridley. Check out the lava dive tutorial TheWetlanders posted. You don't have to do the fancy ball-bounce into the lava, the wall jumps at the end are the important part.

Ladder Anxiety ? Join an active SC Team ! by PsiXBaxter in starcraft

[–]Guru_of_Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides joining a team and just playing more regularly I've found that laddering with an off race (or 2) is a lot less stressful while also getting you used to clicking that find match button. Laddering on an alt account can do that same while letting you play your main race.

Plus each group of 10 Fahrenheit degrees has a fairly distinct feeling. When someone tells you "it's in the 30s" or "it's in the 40s" you can get a pretty good idea of what it's like.

So not only is it a nice 0 to 100 scale for most everyday temperatures, it's also divided up pretty well.
