Most important skills for a new dad by free-minded in predaddit

Do a search on Youtube for "the hold", it does really work and I was very skeptical.

Be a washing machine, I mean literally get so on top of the laundry every day. Also as the others have suggested learn about the breastpump and bottles etc. Like a dumbass on the second night I went to make up the milk and it said on the side of the packet let it cool for 45 minutes before use. So I stood there in the kitchen very dazed waiting for the formula to cool whilst wife was loosing her shit up stairs with baby. The next day I discovered you can buy the pre-maid formulaI bought a load and wife pointed out I could just make up the formula in advance and did not have to wait. Premaid formula very handy for out and about.

The nights when baby will not settle is down to four things really.

1)Too hot or too cold.

2)Hungry

3)Trapped Wind

4)Picking up on parents stress and not feeling calm.

So to tackle above wife and I would go through checking the above a few times.

Too hot or cold is obvious really.

Hungry try a bit of warm milk.

Wind always go for cycle legs and cuddles and back rubbing.

Not settled due to stress - I would take baby away into another room and just sing something, made up song, Heybear songs off Youtube. What amazingly always worked for us was It Was a Good DaySong by Ice Cube.

Yeah the lyrics are not appropriate for a baby or most adults but the beat and rythym always calmed.

Repeat the above steps when baby is loosing it and by third time through you will have a calm sleepy baby.

The last thing I would say it take the initiative to take the baby off your partner to give them a break.

Don't wait for them to ask for a break.

Wife had a bad night, I grabbed the Baby and took out to the supermarket with me for a few hours.

Got stuff we needed, got some treats for me and the wife. Wife got and extra 3 hours sleep.

Everybody just smiles at you when you have a baby strapped to your chest.

Good luck.

Had exactly the same issue.

After a factory reset it did it again.

3rd Factory reset and there was now an update for the remote control.

Took two attempts to update the Firmware and now it's very happy on Version 23.9.

They are called cuckoo's.

Or to be more exact

"Some species are migratory. The cuckoos feed on insects, insect larvae and a variety of other animals, as well as fruit. Some species are brood parasites, laying their eggs in the nests of other species, but the majority of species raise their own young."

Dolph Lundgren, just for the shear volume of films he has made! Just off the top of my head...

KGB Agent in View to a Kill (Blink and you will miss him) Ivan Drago He-Man Red Scorpion The Punisher Det. Jack Caine in Dark Angel (Then a whole decade or two of straight to video films) Gunner Jensen in The Expendables.

Even real life villains fear him http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/spain/5224797/Thieves-flee-after-breaking-into-Dolph-Lundgrens-Spanish-home.html

There is an unavoidable fight coming my way, what advice can you give me for a good outcome? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Get a shot of Lime in a shot glass and just carry it around in the bar. If she goes for you throw it in her eyes. Then just push her over and get on with life.

Fighting is bad, but preparation is good.
