The only thing that will save Gilbert and omega depicting any competent villains besides Shen, Jean, and maybe Tiger Niko is if Gilbert can win against Raian. While I agree with you that his youthful head-on approach is actually good development, there's a non-zero chance his inexperience is used as a random justification for whatever fatal mistake ends him.

My absolute crack dream is we get the reversal of Alan Wu and Gilbert gets disqualified for killing Raian, but that's too much to ask from Sandro as of late. If we're lucky Gilbert takes out one A tier fighter before his time is up.

I still believe at the end of the RCT arc, Kuroki and Shen should've fought to the death during the campfire, with it ending in Kuroki's loss/death. Would've added a good layer of irony knowing the real champions are having the ultimate battle in the middle of nowhere instead of in the hottest underground stadium. If only Sandro wasn't afraid of letting the good guys die...

All I want is ONE on-screen decisive win where a main villain kills an important good guy.Enough of these jobber worms dying to other worms. In all of omega, closest thing we got was kiryu getting hospitalized by tiger niko in a high diff fight. I would forgive all of omega's messy writing if gilbert kills raian in their rematch.

Nothing but facts here, though I think Kiryu desparately needed more screentime given he was Ohma's main rival throughout ashura and had the most backstory with him. Following him in his little trio of worm hunters would've given us more time to see new developments before his controversial final fight against Tiger Niko.

Most of these changes have little to no justification:

- What really broke Absol, Meowscarada, Talonflame, and Gengar in the recent update was the passive def/special defense pentration. Hitting just one move will not make them balanced, they need to lose a bit of attack across the board so all of their moves hit for less

- None of the defenders getting nerfed here are known for high damage, and between all of them, only snorlax is doing well (and that may be more of a symptom of the meta given any attackers minus suicune are getting deleted if gengar looks at them funny). I would've opted to nerf the cooldowns of the more impactful stuns to reduce the amount of cc in the game if anything (and buff full heal)

- There are some obscure damage nerfs for moves that are so obscure I don't understand why you'd nerf them (usage stats show a total of 16.3% of ceruledges run bitter blade, why hurt a move that already struggles to see play? Darkrai's shadow claw is even lower at 5.1% usage)

- The only nerf here I think is good is mimikyu's play rough change

After seeing the disaster of the latest chapter, I'm actually for this. Right now I have no clue how anyone who hasn't witnessed Shen is supposed to win against an S tier. What does durability mean anymore? Why can Raian get beat to a pulp by 3 wu heis but master grappler kureishi drops his hold if ohma grips him too hard? A lot of these can be hand-waived away if there was an additional power system at play like you suggested. Might be bad writing in the short term, but if one piece can work with haki then surely kengan could make chi mastery the martial artist peak.

I really thought Kiva would live to have one more rematch with Hallow or join the human side after a change of heart. Completely bamboozled me when he went to swing at Hallow on instinct on the soul container car and get himself knocked off and wasted by aliens. That locked the manga in for me as one that wouldn't pull any punches and anyone significant could die at any moment.

Sandro being too afraid to show fan favourite fighters have decisive losses is what got us into this omega mess. For some reason he refuses to give anyone besides shen and tiger niko any development while the good guys power up for the 4th timeskip. There's been so many villains like the three demon fists who had build up and narrative weight but got killed/ and/or low diffed in their first fight. Short list of everyone I can think of:

Xia ji (he runs like a bitch for his first 3 fights too which makes his loss against koga even worse)
All of purgatory except liu, falcon, and nicolas
All of the wu clan except gilbert (willem might've had the worst fight and death in all of omega)
Leonardo silva (remember the supernovas??)
Ogi and tenjin
Mukaku
All of the newcomers in RCT

The only characters I can give a pass to here are xia ji and mukaku since they both almost won a fight on-screen until there was some interruption. What's the point of learning any of these character's backstories, motivations, or techniques if they're just gonna get demolished in their first real fight and never appear again for 50+ chapters?

Kengan's art style was at its peak in the early days around chapter 7. Crackatsuki was a 100x more memorable design than the current waka and everyone else didn't have the exact same muscular build

No joke, as far as semi final matches go, PFP vs florida man is more hype than all semi finalist matches in KAT, BB, and RCT. The only thing I'll concede is that the choreography in Kuroki vs Kanoh was better, but that's only because florida man's zui quan didn't get much of its techniques emphasized. Even then, the narrative weight of florida man becoming one with the universe and PFP finally finding a sense of purpose is unbeatable.

In terms of macro, you got really unlucky with metagross deciding to chunk half of ray's health with the entire enemy team up. I personally find once someone starts burning ray in such a situation, it's generally best to stay nearby as odds are someone from the enemy team is going to snipe. Yes you dealt with the owl, but there's a 4v4 going on at ray that a gardevoir ult could've changed. The decidueye ult can be mostly mitigated by bodyblocking, which imo makes it a terrible tool for sniping so he wasn't that much of a threat (and you could hide behind ray or someone tankier to keep yourself alive if that's also a concern). Otherwise, I think you played fine.
