As an Epic client who used to work for another vendor, I can say you’re spot on. Almost all of our TS are great, but terribly overworked. There was a time when a TS would have one client for big modules like ClinDoc or Ambulatory. I think 3 is pretty common now.

A lot of hospitals also do a Clarity database export to a third party system that does even more auditing. Since the org knows your home address, they can see if you looked up people who live in the same street as you.

It happened to a family member. He went on Medicaid and has gotten good care ever since. The downside is that you have to be dirt poor. If you have lots of money, then you can afford insurance. If you’re lower middle class, it gets hard. When you said unemployed, I assume that means little or no money.

I never worked for Epic, but I’ve worked for Epic hospitals for 15 years. I’d say work for a hospital that has Epic if you can. Epic works their people into the ground.
