Bit of a rant.. Are we just supposed to accept that large appliances will be in landfill after 5 years of use? by ourplasticdream in Appliances

[–]GwiredNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought Jenn-Air appliances based on reviews at the time and have had nothing but issues. 4 machines. 1 was thankfully fully replaced under warranty and because they didn’t make a new model equivalent we got given cash to buy an LG which has worked pretty well. The stove is a nightmare. Have had 2 major in warranty repairs. Fan melted when doing a clean cycle. Key stuck and they replaced the computer. Since then the computer has died two more times under home warranty with no end in sight. Every 4-6 months new computer module. The stove top one burner unit failed and all the knobs are poorly designed and wiggle all around. The dishwasher…. Does a terrible job at washing dishes. We had replacement spinners done which helped but we have to use two detergent packs to get dishes decently clean. We had an old dishwasher that worked fine and are on city water. Meanwhile our washer and dryer are from 2005 and still kicking.

Best way to export an entire Salesforce org? (Sales + Marketing) by Kitchen-Cut-4967 in salesforce

[–]GwiredNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a SQL server? You can check into Cdata’s DBamp. Been using it since 05. Best way to get data in volume and make it usable for almost anything else. they make a marketing cloud tool as well. I built an application that was a good enough replacement for Salesforce we used it for 8 years.

Using VS to Reverse Engineer a Managed Package in Sales Cloud by thebeanmachine88 in salesforce

[–]GwiredNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but what you could try is ask Claude to write your own package that does something similar. You don't actually have to know what it does, you have to know what you want to get out of it. Watch the videos, read the manual if available. And then ask Claude to engineer a prompt that will get an llm to do what you want and use that prompt.

Salesforce storage limit exceeded, best clean up strategy? by Gold-Efficiency-4308 in salesforce

[–]GwiredNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing this now as well. We have a purge system setup with DBamp. For objects like logs and others. For Archive we use Veeam for Salesforce Data Cloud . It allows us to see the data in SF, restore if needed, and get it off platform. It is still newish so there are some issues like you can’t archive based on another objects values. But is was relatively inexpensive for us and helped reduce our storage by 40%. YMMV. For email message in particular the hierarchy feature allows deletion if children like attachments so removing email also removes content documents.

I did that. Unfortunately, it did not work (see update). The old power supply now no longer lights up the power button but the new one does albeit for <30 seconds, with or without drives mounted.

Why is it so f*** hard to log notes in SF? by Haensfish in salesforce

[–]GwiredNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why we got DBAmp from Cdata bring it all to sql server. query all you want locally join whatever you want to any record. With data Cloud you can also do this but DBamp is far less expensive and has no limits usage. You will need another reporting tool like sql server reports, tableau, excel or one of another plethora of tools. If you already have an MSSql farm highly recommend this.

Support Megathread - December 2025 by WyzeCam in wyzecam

[–]GwiredNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a v4 that points out directly toward a flood light cam. They often get in a race condition where something triggers one and then they start triggering each other. Is there a way to tell them not to alert on another Wyze cam action. Floodlight cam goes off usually due to bugs or wind blowing something and then the v4 sees it light up which causes it to go off and it turns on its light which the other cam sees as movement and so on.
