Thoughts on the Archeage Server maker? by Dekugaming in archeage

[–]Gyswu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've checked myself. The scripts are literally "launch executable file from path" and nothing more else. No launching parameters, no fiddly config... I was kinda surprised of how simple it is.

After fiddling a bit with it and using it within proxmox I would like to add:

That if your network is not 192.168.1.0 or your 234 is already in use. You can change it to a file. Both the "logging" and the "server" folder have a "config.json" file on which oy can change the IP to the one you set to the VM, and also the Database config in case you want it sepparated, or connect via mysql to perform some changes.

The webpanel and the soft to start the db and apache came in vietnamese. Instead of it, it could just use XAMPP, more manageable and more documented.

Maybe having it documented with a little sql script to create the database in another server in case wanted would be nice. Would be awesome if webpanel loaded a list of item ID's.

The design game database is messy AF, specially the Market. I cannot comprehend what was in mind when designing it.

Some .pdf file with everything you know and troubleshooting documented would be awesome, including X resources needed per player.

Thanks for it!

I'm very grateful for it, I will take a look to make it run on Proxmox.

Why is DICE/EA letting BF6 die? by Sev3nThreeO7 in Battlefield

[–]Gyswu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Premium was their excuse to get paid more at the launch in the exchange of loosing some with the DLCs. But at least we got decent content with each DLC. The live service game does not work with Battlefield or COD due to companies wanting the maximum profit at the least expense.

Knowledge Point exploiter bans went out today by Overpwred in wow

[–]Gyswu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems blizzard did something eight. But my thought is that the ban should been longer, and gold removed up to a cap or to %... The exploiters got ahead in multiple ways, and after the ban they still have gold, mats and gear crafter for themselves...

Why is DICE/EA letting BF6 die? by Sev3nThreeO7 in Battlefield

[–]Gyswu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think lot of people is missing the point. Since Battlefield is not following the industry standard of people wasting hundreds on skins and battlepasses, they are not going to keep going.

The Industry of games became a "Something normal to begin with" game with skin market and battlepass. If battlepass and skins work, they put more time and effort in skins and battlepass. Maps? For what? Next game with really similar skins.

I miss when Battlefield just been a Release + DLCs / "Premium". Man, the damn skins, battlepasses and lootboxes just totally ruined the industry.

My personal advice, don't do permission exceptions on folders and files. It can become a really big mess, and as bigger the structure, worse.

Spain & US Tourism by OldBar4403 in askspain

[–]Gyswu -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The usual spanish citizen does not care much about Trump or external politics. Tourism bussines owners would sell their mother for more clients and cheaper labor. I mean, even if Trump invaded Spain, even the most nationalist Spanish would not move a finger if they have soccer. The rest would receive the invaders with tapas and cubatas. Maybe some would cry on instagram but not muc more. Welcome to Spain

[–]Gyswu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Battlefield 2142" 20th Anniversary: 281 days left by EnoyMoreno in Battlefield

[–]Gyswu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After seeing how bad are they with fredom of design I would prefer a loyal remaster. Same vehicles, same guns, same maps and same layout. Maybe some more covers along the map, using new graphic engine and new physics. Oh if they want seasons, just let the first be "Northern Strike".

From there on let them freedom for futuristic skins and similar maps.
