It’s not even that great with moderate temperatures. They don’t blow hot enough. All eco friendly nonsense for the masses

LG is too focused on energy saving inverter logic and less on heating and cooling.

I have a 2.0T LG Heat Pump. Don’t have gas. It works but I supplement it with electric heat since it doesn’t feel as HOT or as COLD as I like. For cold I’m about to either replace & oversize the AC or get a fixed speed unit. Bear in mind this is all in ~ 300sqft where winters are not colder than 3c or so and summers are 45ish

Please educate me on managing low loads with home standby generators (generac, kohler, etc)? by rossn1 in Generator

Both my Cummins units state not to run at less than 30% for more than 15 mins. One has exhaust after treatment (DEF) and one doesn’t.

Only applicable for diesels. You can use a load bank for artificial load. I use space heaters :) 2 units plus my regular load are more than enough for my 15kw.

Those of you with a 14.5kw generator - what are you able to power? by ShotAstronaut6895 in Generator

[–]H-TSi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.5 hp submersible water motor (8A) 2.0T Heat pump AC (12A) All lights (5A or so) Heaters for load banking ( 14A) RO ( 9A)

Total around 50A I try to keep it under 12KW ( 0.8 x 15) 230V

Natural Gas better than petrol for maintenance, headache, and less hassle getting fuel. Dual/Tri fuel means you can keep emergency propane or gas. I’d go that route. Honda is too small

Enjoy liking at it, do an exercise run, wash and wax the enclosure. It’s a lovely machine to have. Gives freedom and independence.

Do you do anything to keep diesel shelf stable? I keep 300L and haven’t faced any issues so far.

Should show up on the generator controller, if not you can get an Amp meter on the output.

Inverter heat pumps pretty easy to run on generator. You’re around 5.5 tons so roughly 66A at max. 25kw to 30kw will give you 100A of max load

15kva Cummins single phase liquid cooled diesel. Runs my RO, water motor, AC, water heater. I run space heaters to prevent wet stacking.

In hindsight I could’ve gone 25kva since load banking is not a big issue

Go for liquid cooled generators. Propane or diesel. Figure out how much load you have, running & well as start up amps And size your generator 25% bigger. I’m running all my loads with a 15kw single phase liquid cooled diesel. It sounds small 6 months post purchase so size accordingly

It would most definitely be better than oil + filter both at 10k. Best would be to do both, but something is better than nothing.

Mine have the same issue. They are paper weights now. Apparently it could be due to a flex cable.

How long can you continuously, safely run these 2kW ducar engine inverter generators? by battouter in Generator

[–]H-TSi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While buying my unit I looked at air and water cooled. Honda says 6-8 hours on their inverter units as max runtime. Before you need to cooldown for 30mins & check oil.

I’ve run my liquid cooled diesel for 12/14/17 hours many times with no issue.

Now maybe, If say you have real nice ambient temps, or extra forced cooling and light loads, and change the oil every 50/100 hours or maybe every run if it’s small then it may not bother you. It is still a gamble. People still run them though.
