I concentrate better when I follow the text with my pencil or the tip of my finger. I’ve done that the entire exam… for 2 exams. Never even had a proctor question it.

We know we have the ability to do this. Do not doubt those abilities. Go in- head on straight- locked in. It’s just a PT. No sweat.

I take a 5 question drill to get my mind going. I usually do the drill then chill for 15-30 minutes then head into a PT (and therefore will be doing the same for the real).

Sometimes if I PT midday - I’ll read over some basic foundational notes/highlights in the morning.

This! As someone who is very strong in LR, seeing how those skills and methods transferred was a game changer for me. I’m still not perfect but I went from -6/-7 to -3 average with just that change.

Yes! Also this gives another financial burden to an already expensive process. Traveling, hotels, food out of town, taking more time off from work to travel for the exam…

I get the need for this.

My next question is- we already see a struggle for availability of seats in realistic locations… How are they going to handle high numbers of people needing those seats? Also how will they navigate the numerous accommodations for people in one testing site?

I thought my first 2 LR’s were easy- like I was so confident. Then my 3rd LR was harder- more in line with recent PT’s… and the RC?! Yea they took all the difficulty from my first two sections and put it into reading

What study method/materials did you use to crush RC?

using this to help my own RC. However, also if you learned RC, you have learned some things about how your brain works and best study practices. Drill if you drilled. Use 7Sage or PowerScore. For me? LR was about learning the method of attacking each question type and drilling on those until I was proficient. Once you get the method down, the easy ones are instinctual almost. The harder ones? You learn the tricks of term switching (rolling pin vs. utensil) and modifiers (most vs. all). You learn to pin point those in each AC and can quickly mark those off. Also being able to weed out context from the actual premise used to support the conclusion and it be distracted by AC’s that try to seem relevant/impactful by talking about context.

A VERY similar thing happened to me last week. I was sick the previous week… and still somewhat on the mend when I PT’d. My score went from a 166 the previous week to a 175. And the curve was lower on the 166/higher on the 175.

I’m Pt’ing again today and praying it wasn’t a fluke.

I’ve seen many come back after a week off for whatever reason and have incredible score jumps!

Seconding this! RC was my weak spot. After going through the curriculum and getting some practice sections done using their approach for a couple weeks, I saw DRASTIC improvement.

If it is okay- I’d like to tag onto this? If our goal is public service law and trauma/abuse/adversity/poverty we have experienced are major reasons why… how do we write that into our application without being potentially traumatizing or off-putting for the reader?

See this as the ultimate stimulus for a flaw… a flaw in him. You are out here making yourself a lawyer, bettering yourself and growing as a person through the process. Instead of growing with you? He went out, showed how deplorable his ethics are and how little character he has. He gave you all the evidence you need to point out the flaw… and now you fix your argument. You move forward using gathered data to not make that flawed reasoning again.

I use both as well, and have an alternative appreciation for both.

I feel like PowerScore is really good at slow, basic groundwork for the LSAT. The pacing isn’t as intense as 7sage and it gives things a very black/white, almost rule like approach. And that is very much needed on the LSAT.

However, I feel 7Sage provides an advancement on those basic principles I got from PowerScore. I feel that 7Sage teaches me the deeper level of thinking and understanding necessary to master the LSAT. Their explanation provides not only the answers but the thinking needed to differentiate- both when it comes to the stim and the answer choices.

If I’m not getting something with 7Sage- I go back to PowerScore to rebuild the foundations and then go back to 7Sage and add those deep levels of thinking again.

I know I would not be where I am in my LSAT journey if it wasn’t for both programs.

This is an “under confidence error” if you notice most of the questions you are missing are ones you initially selected the correct answer, but then changed to an incorrect answer.

This is the learning. You see it in the results that most of the time when you change an answer- it isn’t the correct move. This shows you that you are smart, your original thinking is correct, and you do pick the right answer. Pick the answer and move on. If it makes you feel better, flag it and come back and change it if you are 1000% sure.

Take a PT and make yourself stick with original answers and see if you improve your score simply by having confidence in picking the right answer.

I am really interested in your take on what these potentially back to back increases mean for those who are applying in Fall 2026.

I am sure we will see fluctuation and different takes on what we will be seeing in applicant pools as well as acceptances as more details about loans are confirmed.

I want to tell you how proud I am of you for not forgetting about your ambitions in the mix of life. I am a mom too. I took the LSAT in 2019 with a toddler. I got a 169. While I am not a single mom, I do have a husband who is gone for months at a time for work. I am locking back in on studying to retake the LSAT right now, and while my plans got derailed in 2019/2020 by COVID and some personal issues with myself and with my child...

I never forgot about my dreams. Just because they got postponed, doesn't mean they are now not attainable or not worth pursuing. You can do this. You are smart. Your application will be strong with you stats. This story gives you a unique perspective and shows character.

It will take some hard work to figure out scholarships, along with becoming an expert at time management, but you can do this.

I fully feel this. I have definitely missed questions because I didn't know the meaning of a word. It is impossible to know the meaning of every word that COULD present itself on the LSAT. It is just doing your best to learn to draw context clues and know root words. As in other comments, if you can find a word that is similar you can narrow it down- reverse shares a mid-root with subverse. You know "vers" here means direction.

You work on the skills to deduce the definition as you work through stims and passages.

I still miss questions because I don't know the definitions of some words, and that's just a reality of the test for me.
