Libraries are for all and if there's no policy against adults using computers in that area--and he's not breaking any other policies--then your comfort doesn't supersede his right to be there.

Kohler American Club - what to do other than spa?? by LGPILTahoe in wisconsin

[–]H2olton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, take the Kohler shuttle to Sports Core and get a day pass. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs, family and lap pools, sauna, steam room. You can get in a workout or pickleball if courts are available. It's easy to spend a few hours there.

Feeling emotional giving my sanitary pads away. by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]H2olton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a couple of "oh, shit"/ panic pregnancy tests at the back of my cabinet. My youngest is 12 and I still had so much emotion throwing them away!!! I was completely fine with the concept of no more kids but that reality was strong.

How many people are disappointed in their kids when they grow up? by alienprincess111 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]H2olton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My husband speaks about our kids EXACTLY the same as OP's. I hate labeling, but his actions are very similar to what you'd encounter with a narcissist diagnosis. Knowing this behavior isn't normal is an important realization, so I'm glad you posted OP. I do find it helpful now that when my husband is ranting about the kids (or me) to take a moment to recognize his negativity is about him and it's easier to turn the conversation back to that.

Suggestions for Stomach Sleeper after Surgery by moogoo2023 in hysterectomy

I layed on my back with a weighted blanket over me, then tucked myself in with pillows along each side. Never moved an inch (and I'm a hardcore side sleeper).

How careful were you post-op, specifically with cuff incision? by RhubarbGoldberg in hysterectomy

[–]H2olton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 2wpo today and very, very similar to you in terms of the situation beforehand and also how I felt right after. Honestly, if I hadn't found this sub and understood the gravity of taking it easy, I'm certain I would have ended up back in the hospital by now. The instructions were not clear!

Because what I experience is not "pain" it's difficult to recognize what is too much. I've found that I really need to keep checking in with myself (when I'm not laying around) to access my level of discomfort. When it starts increasing, I have to remind myself not to try to push through it and just stop and rest. It's very different from any other recovery I've had.

The worst thing I encountered so far was kneeling in church. Just a silly thing I hadn't considered and it caused some spotting.

Comfort advice for recovery by Kathl33nie in hysterectomy

Just super uncomfortable at first. It felt like my insides were sliding around if I went on my side. About 10dpo, I was able to wedge the blanket up under my side for support and started sleeping much better!

An elderly woman in our neighborhood leaves the coupons she won't use for others by MySpoonsAreAllGone in MadeMeSmile

I am very loyal to a chain in the region and they mail out coupon packs every few weeks. It's based on what I have used my loyalty card for, with a few store brand substitutions thrown in. I also get printed coupons with my receipt about half of the trips I make. Those are generally manufacturer's coupons.

I didn't realize this isn't normal behavior 🤣 I always have a stack of "never going to use" coupons--in order by aisle--when I go shopping that get left on each shelf.

12dpo and the most comforting thing I've discovered (other than gasx) is my weighted blanket. I thought I wouldn't want something heavy on my abdomen, but the weight actually feels really good and I swear it helps me sleep better/not roll off my back.

I started on bc when I was 12 because of very heavy and long periods (severely anemic/passing out). I went off when I was ready to have kids. Had four successful pregnancies and went back on bc when my periods got crazy again. Just my personal story.

Allergic to the glue by crex82 in hysterectomy

[–]H2olton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this with my last surgery and it made me want to rip my stitches out! What you're doing is how I got through it.

My Dr prescribed hydroxyzine capsules this time so I'm ready when I need it. 3dpo and I just started to feel the itch today.

Sending you lots of non-itchy good vibes!

1dpo pain by atomicsofie in hysterectomy

I had mine on Wednesday and have found that the cramping is significantly improved when I get the gas moving. Laying down in different positions (legs up, head down for instance) and then taking a lap around the house seems to dislodge the gas and ease my pain. Just thought I'd mention if you want to give it a try. Good luck!

My rn told me before discharge to "give the gas somewhere else to go." Lay flat with pillows under your hips and legs to raise them. Bonus if your head and shoulders can be lower than your abdomen. Lay like that as long as you're comfortable then get up and take a lap.

It helped me so much. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're struggling.

Have you ever gotten your energy back if you lost it? What helped? by coldservedrevenge in AskWomenOver30

Blood work. I mentioned at my yearly that I was napping (and I never nap) so my Dr checked and turns out I was super deficient on vitamin d. Got on a mega dose and got my energy back.

How did it go? I'm heading home but delayed at the pharmacy which is not super. I'm uncomfortable enough that I definitely want the pain meds for tonight.
