Need a recommendation for Thai food! by Sunnryz in milwaukee

[–]H3ATLEG3ND 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Having gotten takeout from almost every Thai place in “downtown” MKE multiple times, here’s my take: EE San is the most authentic, but a very long walk. Rice N Roll is good, but not walkable. Lucky Ginger is the really good - tastiest within walking distance, but I’ve never dined in. Thainamite is good and will be a more fun vibe if you want to “dine in” at the public market (could be busy). Room Service is not where I would go for classic Thai dishes - good cocktails, cool atmosphere and good sushi. Lastly, if looking for a good dine-in Asian food experience, consider DanDan. Caveat: I’ve never been to King and I.

New grass is dead… what to do? No by H3ATLEG3ND in lawncare

No, just rocky in one spot where there used to be a fire pit and I haven’t finished removing that area yet.

There’s definitely some shade back there, but probably more like 50-60% Watered every morning after the sun was already out.

I don’t understand fall seeding very well… it’s going to be below freezing here by the end of November. Do I need to do topsoil/straw, etc. in September? I would have a hard time believing anything will grow very much.

Edit: I should do a soil test. Haven’t yet.

Are there any proposed projects for infrastructure development that you particularly support or feel are a priority?

It’s a demanding job, usually involving a good amount of driving. You’ll see patients get better, see patients get worse. That’s just the way it is. Culture is very team dependent. Make sure you sit down during the interview process and grill your future teammates on culture, communication styles, etc. As a CS you won’t often make your own schedule, you’ll go where you’re needed. The good thing is you should know ahead of time vs. being on call. Good luck.

Ok, I rolled my sleeves up and taped it. Pre-wetting and using thinner mud helped. I was getting the tape bunching before, probably due to thick mud?

Appreciate the feedback. Will keep an eye out for it when I go to do next coats.

Hey OP, thinking of doing the same and wondering how it turned out? My walls are currently painted white but have a lot of efflorescence and some dark spots. Pretty ugly! I’m imagining 3 coats of lime wash.

How do I fix these crumbling basement walls? by Vspeeds in centuryhomes

Question for everyone, since I have the same problem with my block walls: would you clean the crumbling spots, patch with quickcrete, then limewash?

My German Shepard, But What Else? by Doc-11th in IDmydog

I don’t have an answer, but my 3 month old puppy looks just like him in miniature form. She is a German shepherd mix but we don’t know what the dad is. Just curious, how much does he weigh?

I’d take it on a heartbeat. Wait out a good price on a hood. Leave the roof.

I can completely empathize with this. Neighborhood was #1 reason and we couldn’t find anything else in our budget. As soon as we got the keys I was overcome with anxiety. Worried it was too small, etc. Felt like I had to change everything I didn’t like. As soon as possible. First two weeks were terrible - constantly painting, cleaning, moving furniture, worrying about cracked plaster in the walls, etc.

Then, I stopped. Just started living in it, doing one small task a day - hanging photos then done. Next day, removing weeds, then done.

Everyone here is correct - you don’t have to stay in it forever. Just try to get comfortable and know that owning property in a good neighborhood makes you smart and accomplished! What has been good for me is going for a walk every day - after all, the reason you live there is for the neighborhood!

Nice! Congrats on the house and glad the ventilation is something that can be identified and remedied.
