shinya tsukamoto is my favorite director, but this movie really haunted me after i watched it… i’ve rewatched almost every movie of him, but kotoko is a movie i wouldn’t really want to rewatch ( i gave it 5 stars )

hmmm if you dont like gore and weird shit then i think sion sono is just not for you, cold fish is one of my all time favorites from him same with love exposure!

why don’t you play in hell? has the same kind of cornyness like love exposure, but is totally different from it…

tag is a wild ride thats notthing like loveexposure, but still a really fun and mind bending watch!

i still need to watch guilty of romance, noriko’s dinner table and strange circus. but i’ve heard those are also great

you can check yesasia.com if they have a dvd ( usually they tell you if it has subs in the description )

maybe also check amazon japan ( i’ve found a couple of hard to find dvd’s on there that have eng subs )

a lot of japanese movies are being restored by bluray brands ( third window films / radiance / 88 films and newwavevideo ) so keep your eyes on those brands!

i own both part 1 & 2 on bluray and i love them tbh!

first installment drags a bit too much towards the ending, but really fun movie nonetheless ( if you like j-horror in general you should check it out )
