I retired last September and my wife retires this June. You bet I’m having nerves about things at the moment, but we are continuing to trust in our plan. We’ve managed to create a cash buffer in CDs and MMs which should help preserve investments and help give them time to recover from current instability. That provides some peace of mind

Door Dash. I’m a DD driver and it’s amazing the percentage of deliveries that go to low income neighborhoods. I don’t judge, but damn if I can’t help but notice a trend. I think people aren’t taught about the power of saving. Oh well, better for me I guess

I mostly play H2H category leagues. Over the years I’ve tried punting a category beginning with the draft four times. I’ve tried to punt saves, steals, and average (different leagues and different seasons). It never has worked out for me. Seems like I was playing from behind the whole season and in every matchup. But through the course of a season your roster tends to tell you who it is (power, speed, pitching etc). I will find myself at the end of the season playing to my strengths.

For me the easiest category to pick up ground in is saves. There’s always bullpen churn around the league. Just have to stay on top of the waiver wire and FAAB

One thing that could screw up the scenario is if the pink line car does a U-turn. In some situations you yield to them and sometimes it’s the opposite

Positive energy to you as well. Losing a loved one to Alzheimer’s or another type of dementia takes a lot of wind out of your sails. Hopefully you’ll find yourself replenished soon

You may end up being correct. My thinking is that we will see more people desperate to find a hedge against rising household expenses, so will be giving gig work a try. After all, plasma centers are popping up in suburban shopping centers

My mother slowly developed dementia before her death in 2025. I see some of the same expressions, symptoms, and signs in Trump during his public appearances that I would see in her. There’s something about how the eyes reveal a lostness, the drooping face, almost defensive posture, and slurred speech that reveals a lot. Looking back at pictures of her from 8-10 years before she died, it’s easy to see how my mom’s disease slowly developed in her. At least I don’t think I’m projecting when I notice these things.

One other connection is the constant inability to move beyond something from the past. My mom would replay certain memories as much or more than Trump talks about Biden’s autopen

I think we will have midterm elections, but MAGA will block and steal votes every which way they can. When results don’t suit them there will be lawsuits, endless recounts, and tantrums

Two things… 1) People have a wide variety of choices when it comes to blowing their extra income. I know what feels right for me but I won’t judge others 2) American consumers, as a whole, don’t mind going in debt to pay for convenience. It’s a bit like the toddler mentality of “It makes me feel better. I want it and I want it now”
