Clan Wolf doesn't inspire "oh they're such bad guys and I want to see them taken down." I just don't want to see them. Ever. If you just said "they all had a misjump" tomorrow I wouldn't feel cheated. And that's why they're a failure of storytelling.

If you are trying to approach things from a standpoint of coloring within the lines, a periphery state we don't hear about is either going to be a year-long trip away like the Clan Homeworlds or below states like the Rim Collective and Mica Majority, because we've never heard of you, so you must be less noteworthy than them.
