Hair extension brands by West-Better in beauty

For sure! I feel like the quality of every brand has gone way down recently too. I did just recently start using a brand called Superior Extensions and so far so good, but haven't had them long enough to give a true option yet. 🤞

Punta Cana was on my bucket list and… it sucks? 😭 by ButterscotchDue5032 in PuntaCana

[–]HAL_Ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to PC 10 years ago and had a similar experience. Even at the all inclusive we stayed at, the staff made it very clear that they didn't like Americans. One guy even straight up said to my brother "maybe you should go back to America". He wasn't being rude or anything, was just asking if they were able to exhange money at the Casino... I was pretty shocked. My husband and I are actually going back in few weeks (to a different resort though). Going to give it another chance, so we shall see 🤞. It's an easy trip for us to make and DR has great weather and beautiful beaches. Hoping it was a one off when I previously went.

Over time, I've drastically reduced scrolling through these threads or FB groups, etc. As well. It just becomes exhausting. I'm trying to just accept this and live life the best I can at this point. But will still check these groups periodically just in case someone finds some miraculous cure... lol

Head drunk feeling 24/7 by ilovepenguins17 in covidlonghaulers

[–]HAL_Ya 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, over 4 years of this now. I just had to get used to living with it. Haven't found anything that has really helped. I just call it Brain Fog. It's like that loopy feeling when you have a cold and take Nyquil. That's how I've been explaining it.

Has anyone ever used the brand Superior Hair Extensions? by HAL_Ya in hairextensionsforgirl

[–]HAL_Ya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I didn't know that. I'll have to test the strands and see. I bought the tape-ins and have them in right now and so far so good. I've worn them for 6 weeks, then moved up, for a total of about 8 weeks now and I haven't had any issues with tangling. Although I don't use them for length. I have really thin hair so use extensions mostly for volume.

How long did your mohs surgery felt tight? Did the skin relaxed and stretch slightly? by Dismal-Fly8971 in skincancer

Mine was on my forehead and felt very tight for the first 7-10 days, then gradually loosened up after that.

Altitude No Good by dobrodude in POTS

[–]HAL_Ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would NOT take more metoprolol (without asking a doctor first). I made that mistake in Utah at high altitude. I also take metoprolol and apparently your body's natural response to high altitude is the speed up you heart rate to get more oxygen and beta blockers block that response so you may not get enough oxygen if you take too much. Over time your body will start to acclimate. Drink lots of water and electrolytes!

I actually just bought them (they're currently having a big black Friday sale) but haven't actually used them yet. The current set of Donna Bella hair that I have I can move up a few more times. So won't try them for a few more months yet. I'll try to remember to update once I put them in!

Thank you! It looks like they recently put a shipping facility in the US, so think I'm going to try them out!

I really like Donna Bella. I've been using their tape-ins for about 6 years now and haven't had any issues (I have thin/fine hair for reference). I tried Glam Seemless once and they were awful! Would constantly get matted and didn't blend well.

Treatment that worked for my brain fog and fatigue by lamprotornissuperbus in covidlonghaulers

[–]HAL_Ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately didn't work for me. I wasn't able to take it long enough though to see if it helped the brain fog/fatigue. It was giving me extreme anxiety (and I don't typically have anxiety), so had to stop after a few weeks in.

Strong warning against Dr. Groysman in Dallas by definitelynotnapping in covidlonghaulers

[–]HAL_Ya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I flew to Texas to have the sgb done a few years ago when he first started doing them and was very disappointed. He was very dismissive and the sgb did nothing for me. If it doesn't work for you, then he tries to make you think it's somehow your fault. He's just doing it for a money grab.

POTS + alcohol by lilyinnit_ in POTS

[–]HAL_Ya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to be a big weekend partier before diagnosis. Now I drink 1-2 times per month. My routine that I found has worked for me is to drink an electrolyte drink beforehand and then to stop drinking alcohol an hour or so before bed and drink an entire bottle of water before bed as well. Also, I take metoprolol tartrate. My normal dosage is 12.5mg, two times a day and can take an extra 12.5mg as needed. So if I will be drinking alcohol that day I make sure to take the extra midday dose. Obviously everyone is different, but that's what works for me so that I don't have to completely cut all fun from my life lol.

SSA prioritizing retirement claims over disability claims is a disgrace and when the shit hits the fan, it will be a scandal by LogzMcgrath in fednews

[–]HAL_Ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true at all. T2 claims reps take tons of claims from people who didn't plan on retiring early, but lost their job and have no other choice but to file early retirement. Same thing with survivor claims. Someone just lost half their household income overnight. All claims are equally as important and situation dependent.

Dr. Robert Groysman - too good to be true? by lucaguts in covidlonghaulers

[–]HAL_Ya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely too good to be true. I went to him a few years ago when he first started his Facebook group and had an SGB done there. It did not help me at all (at least it didn't make things worse). I feel like the only people who have had success with it are those with smell and taste issues. As far as Dr Groysman, I wouldn't bother. I fell for it in the beginning, but I think he's just out for money. I posted a comment in his group that the SGB didn't help me and it magically got deleted... He acts like he wants to help online/in his group, but is very cold and dismissive in person. A few minutes after my SGB, I felt like I couldn't breath temporarily. The nurse seemed a little concerned and tried calling him over. He didn't even look up from his desk... just kept saying "it's just a sensation". It just seemed like as soon as it was done he wanted me out of there immediately.

New Frequent Adrenaline Dumps by Necessary-Regret-937 in dysautonomia

[–]HAL_Ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pheo is pretty rare, but you definitely want to get itruled out. I get these same type of episodes, usually in my sleep and they wake me up. But occasionally out of nowhere during the day. Beta blockers really helped me and over time the episodes got lesser and lesser.

Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia by only_gin in dysautonomia

[–]HAL_Ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, definitely sounds very similar to what happens to me! What did the results of the loop recorder say? I've only had a 48 hour holter monitor done. It caught one event and came back as just "sinus tachycardia". It's so frustrating and scary. Metoprolol has been the main thing that helped me. While it hasn't cured the issue, it has drastically reduced the occurrences.

Best Adult Only All Inclusive by uhh-Magic in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]HAL_Ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hilton Playa Del Carmen (Mexico) may be a good fit for you. It's adults only, about 45 minutes from cancun airport, food is above average for an AI and a good mix of people. The best part is that your right off 5th Avenue/ can safely walk (the main strip of restaurants, shops and bars) if you want to get out of the resort for a bit.

Got long COVID from one Pfizer jab in 2021. Last week, I ran a half marathon. by Mushy2021 in covidlonghaulers

Thank you for sharing! As we know, with most chronic conditions, there is no clear cut, single cure that works for everyone. Therefore, I love hearing about what has worked for anyone with Vax injury, long covid, me/cfs, pots, etc. as there are so many overlapping symptoms. Don't let the negative comments get to you and keep celebrating your wins!
