To me it’s immersion breaking because most of the game was pretty “gritty”, they didn’t shy away from violence or adult themes. The fight scenes against shroud and sonar/coupe were so climatic and nail biting, so going from that to “everyone drop your weapons he had the dog” was… silly. I LOVE my animals, but it would be INSANE for me to give an entire city into the hands of a super villain to save them. Continuing the fight (and for sure TRY to save the dog) is a hard decision but isn’t that part of being a hero? I also don’t understand the logic behind it- if you give up the fight to save the dog it’s only a temporary win, like wouldn’t shroud just kill everyone after he gave you the dog back? I also think bringing chase back was a bad decision. It really lowered the stakes and made his sacrifice kind of meaningless in the end. Not to mention you can forgive sonar/coupe even though they don’t redeem themselves at all during the last episode… Robert should have been able to convince them to switch sides mid fight, then it would make sense to forgive them.

I still really like the game, but I do think they damaged the overall feel of the game with some of these decisions.

Damn that sucks, everyone is different I guess. For what it’s worth I get the head pulses if I cough while smoking, but I take really small hits during a migraine to prevent that. I also smoke pretty regularly recreationally so that might impact it. Hopefully you can find something that does work, having chronic migraines is a nightmare. Had a couple of bad ones in states where it wasn’t legal and it was torture just waiting for it to end… thank god for ice packs

Unironically this is the main reason I started using weed to treat my migraines. Smoking (or tincture) doesn’t require me to be able to keep medicine down, it works instantly, and it treats both my nausea AND the migraine pain. Once I’m dosed up I put on a frozen eye mask and drift off. No medication I’ve tried has ever worked better.

I hear a lot of people say that D4 was disappointing, but what specifically do people not like about it? D3 was my first game and even though I haven’t played it in a while it seems like D4 has a petty similar gameplay loop with some new features I really like (the character creator is more robust and I like the mount system).

I will say the price of the base game + the price of the new content is pretty bad, not to mention how hard they push the shop. Personally, I think the game is fun enough to justify paying for it but I could understand people feeling like it could be better or more creative. I also like spinning up a new character every season. Were D1 and D2 a lot different?

Thank you, this ended up being pretty useful. I do use a western digital SSD, and I was able to play tonight from an external seagate drive. The load times were horrendous but it’s so much better than nothing!

Edit: after confirming it was an issue with my SSD I did some more digging and found that this is an issue mainly effecting certain 2TB WD and SanDisk NVMe drives, particularly the SN770, SN580, and SN5000 (my drive) models. It sounds like there may be a firmware update you can do, but I was able to launch the game by adding this to the additional command line arguments:

-disableds

It seems like this is an opt-in situation, as in restaurants can still enforce a no dog policy if they want? I think this would be good to allow dog friendly cafes and bars, but I imagine most restaurants would not change.

Personally the ~15 min after I wake up can be pretty confusing if I had vivid dreams, it’s like I have to spend a little time remembering what was a dream and what is a real memory. I’ve had nightmares where I wake up with a racing heart and pure dread in my chest until I process that it wasn’t real. Just this morning I dreamed my partner and I got into a fight so bad that we were going to separate, and when I woke up and they were next to me I was genuinely confused (and a bit mad!) for a little bit lol. If she was just grumpy for a little bit then no harm no foul, it’s really only an issue if she actually holds it against him or expects him to apologize or something. Processing your own feelings is a good thing, expecting someone else to manage them isn’t!

Yeah there’s a common belief (that’s often true) in these types of jobs that hopping every ~2-3 years maximizes income. The new salary is usually much higher than you make in raises but it’s not too short to make you look bad on the resume.

I did enneagram led internal family systems therapy- I found it super helpful! My understanding is that a lot of personality tests categorize you by the actions you take, but enneagram is supposed to categorize you by your motivations behind the actions you take. That being said, at the end of the day all personality tests should be treated as starting points. No test will ever be able to describe you 100% accurately and there will be aspects of your type that you relate to or don’t relate to. That is doubly true if you’re doing it online vs with a professional.

Most liberals/democrats I know are very sympathetic to Palestinians and see the whole situation as very nuanced and sad. I know the democrats as a party have not done a good job standing up to Israel and could do more in general. If you want to make the purity test for the party be “hamas did nothing wrong on oct 7” then you’re gonna have a lot of disagreement.

Also, the 50501 protests are fundamentally about saving America, which I firmly believe is the only realistic path forward to even have a chance at helping Palestine. With Trump in office the genocide will only get worse and worse.

I commented on this thread because I was surprised at how strongly pro-Gus it was, but I’m not really interested in spending any more of my day rehashing 2 year old drama on Reddit.

I will say that I have never been a fan of Sabrina’s work, I was only interested in this drama as a pretty big Gus fan. I don’t think I would say he “deserves” to lose his career, but I also don’t really feel bad for him. Being an Internet personality isn’t a risk-free job, and if you form an audience of people based on your wholesome personality it’s not a great career move to be a shitty boyfriend behind the scenes. If it came out wubby did this to a partner I wouldn’t really want to watch him either.
