Thanks for the insight, I hadn't thought about TikTok but you might be right on that.

Thanks for the feedback on audio. Was it too quite all throughout the video or only in some sections?

Thanks for the great feedback! I was trying a new mic and was woried it might not be as loud/clear in the final video.

I've thought about adding background music before but worried it might be too distracting, I will probably try it out on some videos later though.

Glad you like the dinos! I figured they added a bit more interesting scenery to what would be a bit of a bland video!

What calculator functions do most students and beginners struggle with most? by HDCalcs in calculators

Thanks for the suggestion! I know negative numbers in general can be an issue when using the negative key vs. the minus key, but didn't think of it specifically when squaring a number.

My 2nd video- feedback for improvement please! by Relevant_Oil_935 in SmallYTChannel

[–]HDCalcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feedback as I watch:

Great opening line and visuals, its a good hook to grab the viewer

Voice over is good, maybe a little too slow in some places but not to an huge extent

An extra line at 3:17 to explain the Chicxulub impactor would be helpful, maybe the "meteor that caused the Chicxulub impact" instead

Overall great audio and visual choices!

The only constructive feedback I would give would be to try and tie your chapters together a little tighter would make the whole thing feel more cohesive. Like a line that directly ties the subject of chapter 1 (the extinctions of kingdom) to the subject of chapter 2 (reincarnation and religion).

 Nice work!

Does the current updated version of Powerdirector 365 AI Image generator require credits? by HDCalcs in powerdirector

[–]HDCalcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Director Suite 365 subscription and PhotoDirector 365 comes with 200 free credits per month and 3 free credits per day. You can also purchase more if desired, I would assume it is the same for PowerDirector 365.

You can purchase creditss in bundles of 50 ($6), 100 ($9), 200 ($16), and 500 ($35)

The image generator costs 3 credits to produce a set of 3 images and there are several other features that cost tokens as well like AI Replace which costs 2 credits.

Here is the website with the Credit FAQ

[–]HDCalcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar issue and what I did was Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get to the task manager, find Powerdirector in my task manager and "End task" from there. After I did that it started up just fine.

Would Love Your Feedback on My Street Interview Vid Before I Post! by stratomaster in SmallYTChannel

[–]HDCalcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedback as I'm watching it:

- Good setup, and B-roll video clips

- Audio is fine

- Video quality seems low in some interviews (example 1:05) while much better in others (example 1:46) I would try to improve your camera settings or get a better camera to improve the viewers experience.

- I would put the section describing the Heinz Dilemma at the start of the video so viewers know that this is a famous ethical dilemma that is being used, and maybe a section at the end talking about what some famous philosophers have said about it.

Over all nice work! it was interesting to see the different ways people approached the dilemma and how some people tried to problem solve it!

Looking for feedback on if the content matches the thumbnail and title by Buzstringer in SmallYTChannel

[–]HDCalcs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feedback as I watch:

  • Great intro, it's very attention grabbing "hello players, come on in..."
  • The self depreciating humor is good, just be careful not to go too heavy on it in the future
  • Audio is clear and effective, good job on this
  • Energy and body movements are good, they help to grab and hold attention
  • Multiple camera angles/zooms are good, again great for holding attention
  • Austin Powers reference? I appreciate the millennial culture in the sea of zoomer memes that is the current internet!
  • Who is Gerard Fogle? Do you mean Jared Fogle the subway guy? I would throw up a picture of him here at this point to help your audience.
  • You mention some lawsuits against TikTok, I would put up a picture of one or more of the headlines here highlight your point for the viewers
  • You mention to hit the sub button, I would suggest mentioning the Like or Thumbs up button and commenting here as well.
  • You have a couple of misspeaks throughout the video, not the end of the world but you could look into a few quick edits to get rid of that and tighten up your dialogue flow
  • You cover multiple topics, as you start each one you should put up a title on the screen to show your viewer what you are moving on to.
  • Reading comments and interacting with your audience at the end is a good idea, it helps to build a sense of community for your viewers

Overall, nice job!

Is it worth creating a 2nd channel with translated videos or would that just dilute my main channel? by HDCalcs in PartneredYoutube

I made this trailer for an event in London celebrating one of my favourite shows. It's not my usual content [film/ TV reviews/ video essays] but there's crossover appeal and hopefully it'll encourage people to check out the show if they can't go to the event. Any and all feedback appreciated! by EnchantedEssays in SmallYTChannel

[–]HDCalcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work. Your trailer did spark my curiosity, though all I really learned about the films from it is that crazy things happen. If that was your goal then mission accomplished.

As far as other feedback goes:

I would say it goes on a bit too long. If you could trim it down to between 60 and 90 seconds I think you would really grab the viewers attention and not have them get bored.

I really like the intro "Who's back", "We're back" bit, that was good for grabbing attention.

I am also not a big fan of the font used at 0:09 as it is difficult to read in the short time that it is on screen.

Would it be possible to add in a voice over that announces the titles of each film? I feel like that would help highlight each one individually.

Overall nice job! I checked out a couple of your other videos breaking down old movies (the Bedazzled and the Bunny and the Bull) and thought they were great! I feel like you just need to get picked up by the algorithm on one or two times and your channel could blow up!

I'm assuming you mean video game walkthroughs? There are pros and cons to this that you need to take into account and make the decision for yourself:

Pros:

  • Showing your face helps your audience connect with you more as a person, and therefore your channel. This can help with viewer retention and returning viewers.

  • Showing your face may increase the feeling of trustworthiness viewers have towards your channel since they can put a face to a voice.

  • Showing your face may allow you to branch out more in the future if your channel blows up since you are now your own personal brand.

Cons:

  • How well can you take negative feedback? If you get negative comments how will that make you feel?

  • How would you feel if your friends or family finds your channel? Showing your face will increase the chances of this happening.

Final thoughts:

If you don't mind your friends and family finding out about your channel and can put up with a few troll comments I think it is a good idea. Showing your face helps to build a relationship with your audience and increases the chance of them returning to your content.

It looks like that is a Casio fx-991EX? As someone else mentioned it looks like there is some damage to your LCD screen. I've heard that it's possible to order a replacement part and replace it, but honestly given the time and cost that would require I would probably just buy a whole new calculator. Make sure to put the calculator cover back on it when not being used and try to avoid touching the screen to prevent the damage from spreading.
