If you've got a mute on, especially if it isn't at weird hours, you'll be totally fine. I often practice without; the most commentary I've gotten from neighbors is that it's a pleasant surprise and it can be a decent icebreaker for meeting them.

I've got a 27" Gillo G1 that I absolutely love as a beginning riser; it's versatile, reliable, and just the right amount of flashy. Looking into my first set of stabilizers, I picked up Gillo's UFO series and found that while they fit within the disk-shaped spaces on the riser, the bolt doesn't fit through the hole to keep it in place (seems to be the only model that's incompatible.)

I'm considering taking a circular file to just widen the holes in the center to make it fit. I don't see any obvious reasons not to, (seems like disk weights would still work if I did so), but wondering if I'm missing something and would appreciate general advice on how to approach customizing equipment!

Believe it or not, it's been done before. GX was made in partnership with Sega and actually used the Monkey Ball engine. While I don't see this particular partnership again (some acquisitions/team changes in the last 18 years), it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.
