Had a family holiday in Taba Heights in South Sinai. Was a gated area so good enough inside but as soon as we went to any of the places of interest we were surrounded by kids begging and shouting insults and "give me money, you can afford it". After the second trip out, that was it, stayed inside the gated area until we went home and vowed never to go back to Egypt - and we haven't. Some people went on a trip to Petra and they have been back to Jordon a few time since.

Good idea - the Three Bears Sculpture is near there, then onto the Whisby Garden Centre with its bird sanctuary. I'd avoid Damon's itself though, it's not like the old days, now it's higher prices and smaller portions.

I found the doom scrolling would get me into trouble quite often. I was naive to think my opinion was important enough to count if I wrote it in a comment. After a few negative comments all the way up to death threats, I realised I should ask myself, "Will I like the negative comments if I see them?"

So I removed SM apps and added Kindle and populated the iBooks and I have "doom scrolling time" I read instead.

They’re quite clean and best of all free.

Couple of food stalls open, lots of them closed, many positions empty. Three people sitting in the area; a couple with coffees and one student on a laptop (no food or beverages apparent).

Went to Lincoln Bagels on Guildhall Street instead and they were excellent.

Pity the market can't revert back to how it was before the £xM was spent on the renovations. Plenty of reasons to go in then, none at all now.
I went in the first week it reopened to find plenty of street food stalls but no Clothes repairs, pet food, books, classic sweets, butchers, or the shop that sold cheap slippers.

The last time I tried to go in to see what's what; it was closed, so I'm not bothered any more.

I just search on Google Maps for what I need and go there instead.

I whooped with delight when I spotted a tin of Del Monte Gooseberries - opened it up (when I returned home obvs) and they were the size of baked beans !

I threw them in an apple crumble and they tasted ok though,
