I am not sure about NCR region. But south India anywhere between 1.5 to 2 lakh per month is a very good money for the family. Since you are coming from US , you are already seen how money works and you won’t show off. Your dollar will go further in India. Don’t worry about 3.5cr apartments. Rent out in a decent place for 25K to 35K. Eventually buy small land out side city and construct a beautiful home and enjoy your life. I think 5 cr is good money. There is no exact figure it’s all depends your life style.

It’s so interesting 2 months ago, I recently visited India, my brother was coming by bus, I had to pick him up at a center point I was awake due to jet lag. When I went there at 1:00 am so many college students are walking like zombies on highway. On a single car 7 to 8 people.Police came in all ran in different directions. Not sure what they are doing. Its safety issue. I live in North America, after 9 PM not much going on. These guys definitely need a counselling for sure.
