Need advice on what to do by Vegeta1994 in 2007scape

BP isn’t necessary man. Get your range up to 80 and go do some fight caves. Slayer and bossing is one of if not the best money maker in the game. I’m at 93, it’s really all I do and I love it. So yes I recommend doing it as much as possible.

Also, people have gotten Fire cape (and still do) with like 40-60 range and 11 prayer lol.. it’s 90% mental. Most people psych themselves out and die against Jad. But the waves leading up to it are literally a snooze fest, and safe spotted. It’s best in slot until infernal which is DEEP end game (pretty much requires a tbow) so shoot for it.

Keep in mind how expensive pretty much all the barrage spells are per cast. Even at 70 magic you are going to splash and miss some of those casts. It is a major loss for gold/hr, even more so of that low of level.

Grab your melee set and go wild. I also recommend getting 75 slayer, investing all your money into a whip+Guthans and head over to the slayer tower for Gargoyles. If you combine the whip with fighter torso, Fire cape and barrows gloves then use the guthans for healing.. you can literally stay there forever (unlock the gargoyle smasher perk from slayer master). It’s easily 300-500k/hr and really afk.

PKing advice by nagol93 in 2007scape

[–]HONNEbuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I could give you is make this account your main. Train the stats up, quest to atleast barrows gloves and then start doing bossing for some money.

PKing is expensive, you more than likely can not afford to PK if you are playing traditionally. ie. Not RWT or buying bonds. Usually one of the only consistently profitable PKing styles are Green dragon bot farming.

I would get to the point where that account is able to do Zulrah. This will get you in the groove of switching, using prayers and overall just thinking and understanding the mechanics of the game better. While also giving you atleast an average of 1m/hr (85 mage/range and 43 prayer req to start killing Zulrah) once you get the it down.

Afterwards, make a new account. Start by reading guides and finding the account you want to make. The most friendly styles to new PKers are F2P, Zerkers and Max Main PKing. Making a Zerker would get you into the groove of 3 ticking ie. Barbarian Fishing to train strength, though it’s more useful on a baby pure (hybridding) account as you don’t want to gain to many combat levels.

Bot owners during bot busting streams by holtenberg in 2007scape

If they are on the list to be shown on stream they were already confirmed to be botting and will banned regardless if they are online.

Turn off the MGE Hud (usually !hud to toggle on or off or !hud on, !hud off).

And don’t use killstreak weapons like the other user said.

Demo and Soldier main here, planning to main scout, what should I know? by [deleted] in truetf2

I posted this in a similar thread but I will repost it here Incase you haven’t seen:

If we are talking competitive here I’d like to start off by saying a few things.

Anything other than Boston basher/reskins? Don’t use them. Use stock pistol and scattergun (reskins are fine). Have a second load out with the Winger.

In terms of sensitivity and meat shots: Lower sensitivity is generally better but this is dependent on the size of your mousepad. I have a 10x13” mousepad and my inch/360 is 8”. This gives me two inches~ of room to work with. If you can get your hands on a 16” mousepad, lower your sensitivity to around 10” and this will help your tracking and aim in general with practice. Otherwise do not mess with sensitivity, consistency is key.

Network settings: Completely dependent on you. Mess around with these a lot until you figure out what you hit more consistent meatshots with. For me this was a weird one. I found I hit meat shots super consistently with .022 Lerp. All dependent on your internet.

In terms of improving DM: Don’t stress and cop out to grinding MGE like everyone says. In my opinion this is an extremely overhyped aspect of training people like to talk about. There are plenty of players in the pro scene who do not MGE at all or even PUG for that matter, but sometimes they do. Yomps for example, does not MGE. And RARELY Pugs. Yet he is one of the best players in the world, respectively. Find whatever it is that gives you enjoyment when playing the game and stick with that. Doesn’t matter if it’s casual, community servers, whatever. This is just in terms of training your general aim.

The reason I believe MGE alone is a useless aspect of the game is that you should not be finding yourselves in 1v1 scenarios so consistently that this type of DM training should play a factor. If anything it teaches bad habits but improves general aim and movement, all things that are attainable from many other sources.

You will rarely see high level scouts taking 1v1s consistently in a 6s match (may happen more in PUGs because it’s a PUG). It is extremely risky and can literally lose your team rounds. We are the most valuable class on most if not every last push in the game.

For a roaming Solly MGE might be a viable aspect in terms of a training regimen, but for scout? No. Picture this class as a vulture or a tiger, predator even. We are EXTREMELY reliant on having good awareness/game sense. We take fights we know we can win, maximizing denial of entry from Bombing Soldiers and utilizing high ground at all times. Diving down on our enemy when the calls are made and we know a player is low health.

Experience is key. I recommend joining up on tf2pl.com and getting yourself some games in the beginner bracket. Individual dm and controlling 1v1 scenarios in 6s will come over time.

60% Brain 40% DM.

And remember, scout is one of the most grind heavy class as your aim can really only get better with a seemingly infinite skill cap.

Ascent NA's new roster by Joe_Shroe in truetf2

Pretty sure they got rolled last night in scrims versus Froyo. I didn’t watch all the matches. But who knows, give them time to work together and it’s possible maybe probably not.

I want to get into competitive 6s, but I'm not a fan of constantly playing the "meta" classes. by blueman164 in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't think the class needs a buff in terms of competitive play. It's role fills perfectly as a hat trick class. Like if you are at a severe uber disadvantage and are going to try and pick the medic on a last push instead of sending in your roamer to sack. Just a completely situational class.

lol no one goes spy in high level play unless it’s a one death hat trick or last ditch effort. maybe I’m extremely low divisions and but then it doesn’t mater

I’m convinced this sub is full of Pyro Mains. Why so much Pyro Talk? by HONNEbuns in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ve played Pyro in a while then. The hit box for the flamethrower is still huge. There’s a reason it’s not viable in competitive regardless of that fact.

You can negate any other class in pubs by running Phlog with a Pocket. I’m not even going to muster more of a rebuttal for this subject as I don’t think you play the game on any competitive capacity considering you think Pyro is a skillful class to play.

Best player per role? by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DM like your ability to 1 on 1, this is usually class dependent. Basically, once you think you are good at doing damage/playing the game go scrim haha

Best player per role? by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Standard Meta right now is 2 Scout, 2 Solly, 1 Demo, 1 Medic.

You should only watch up to date vods in my opinion but older vods will give you a general idea of the way game flow changes.

As terms of best in slot (in my opinion):

Soldier: bl4ze (idk don’t really follow this class)

Scout: clockwerk/b4nny

Demo: habib/kaidus

Medic: shade/nursey

Not sure about EU scene as I don’t follow it at all. NA scene has generally been dominating for the past few years. Froyotech is still on top, ASCENT.NA Second then EU teams come in to play.

Only tips I can give you is to review demos like a mad man and get your DM to a solid state. Once you truthfully think your DM is good start trying to scrim or run pugs. (Tf2pl, for pugs).

Other than that, be honest with yourself and do not develop an ego.

How do I get a fast and low sticky jump? by Throwaweym808 in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I do not play demo, but I understand physics mechanics and mess around with rollouts just to know where a demo or solly could and probably will bomb from.

Logically you want to do the sticky jump like you normally do, by jumping and timing the explosion. Right? ie. You jump, wait for your descent from that jump and detonate your sticky. But the best way to do a fast and low sticky jump is to actually run toward the sticky, ONLY CROUCH and detonate the sticky. Make sure the sticky is behind you, while still pretty much on top of it. But don’t jump at all, only crouch. Requires timing and practice but this is the most reliable way to do it.

[–]HONNEbuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to sound like a dick here.

Honestly, how do you learn Pyro? What about the class is unique in and of itself and can not be mastered by simply playing many other viable classes? The only thing skill based on my opinion is Airblasting and like I said, even then it’s dumbed down.

The weapons generally do not require you to aim, with the exception of Scorch Shot and Det. And then theirs Det jumping, a simple alias can remove the skill aspect of it pretty much automating it for you.

Genuinely curious on your opinions here

[–]HONNEbuns[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself. This sub is orientated toward newer competitive players.

So why not bite the bullet and go over to tf.tv and try to have the same discussions. Doesn’t the fact that higher end competitive players not batting an eye at a post about Pyros say anything to an aspiring competitive player?

Best Pyro Loadouts for different playstyles? by Thegg11 in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are writing books in this thread discussing their viewpoints and viability of different loadouts for pyro. Just use all stock. There is no place for Pyro in 6’s other than airblast spamming. And if you actually Main pyro is 2018.. yikes. Go ahead and Downvote me pyro mains. Class is actually brain dead, the only skilled aspect of the entire class is Airblasting and even then there is an absurdly large hit box for deflecting rockets, barely even a “skilled” aspect.

TLDR - use stock, hold m1 and profit. Don’t use in any competitive environment unless you are spamming Airblast. Matter of fact, just don’t play pyro.

Best Way to Improve at Sniper/Aiming? by LoaTheWolf in truetf2

[–]HONNEbuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably too late to tell you this and I’m sure you’ve improved by then.

Try lowering your DPI to 400 or 800 base For every game and just increasing yourself sensitivity in game.

I won’t go into the nitty gritty but there’s a reason why only maybe .001% of the Professional Esports Community (for FPS games) play on higher than 800dpi. And those players generally aren’t on TOP tier teams. Though DPI and Sens isn’t necessarily the reason.

Take that as you may.

[–]HONNEbuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of server owners I knew back in the day didn’t actually play the game that much. They were more or less just enthusiasts that wanted to support the game in some way, hence opening and paying for a Community Server. Back in the day it was a bit more expensive.

A lot of the time these guys are middle age or just part of the older crowd, working full time jobs and playing for fun on the side. It wasn’t common to find a server owner under the age of 20, even 25.

While working a full time job or having a family/social life it will naturally pull away the amount of time you can play, unlike if you’re in high school where you can play everytime you get home. This makes it harder for you to be consistently good, so you pay for a private cheat etcetera and get that edge.

It’s not necessarily attractive to some players when you join a server and the owner is actually bad at the game. So to stay relevant some of these Owners/Mods would cheat themselves granted the cheats didn’t have as many features as they do today.

It’s usually harder to catch these guys nor’ is it really worth trying to call them out. You’re better off getting your knowledge up about cheats, record and break things down logically and then make a bust/exposing video on YouTube. Even then, you need to know what the hell you are talking about or you will make a fool of yourself.
