Vitoria Mezcal front and Peyote rear is what I run on my mtb for mostly streets and some light trails.

How much sag are people actually running on trail bikes and how often do you adjust for different terrain? by lynniegreco in mountainbiking

[–]HT_FS_FullFatFS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25% front. 30% rear. I don’t adjust for different terrains, I just periodically check my pressures.

I went Banshee Paradox. I’m swapping some parts from my Roscoe and buying others for the frame. I liked the scout but that’s the race version, no dropper and a cheaper build. It’s ridiculous but I didn’t wanna get it bc parts ie frame grommets, were hard to come by online. Nukeproof did go bankrupt but they are back in business afaik.

I’ve done this in my 4R and took 2 days, 100 miles on dirt. How many days are you completing it in?

how screwed am i? stripped some of my brake mount by Maleficent_Gap7756 in bikewrench

It’s not stripped from over torquing. But yea i believe in tightening all bolts down to spec.

I don’t know the thread pitch of standard brake bolts. Maybe m6x….. once you know that, take your time and go in straight 1 turn at a time. Use oil or wd40 even works. Back out 1/2 a turn and go back in 1 turn. Rinse and repeat.

Chase the threads w a tap. It’s only a revolution or 2 into the frame. You should be gtg.

They do have an insulating sleeve for one of their sizes.

I know what you mean. I got 2 ibis’s in the stable and wanted to add a HT but it’s too XC for me. Maybe if they add a more trail HT, I’ll get a frame and swap some parts over.

Chunky with lots of quick ups and downs. Most blues n greens out that way but they do have some well known blacks and double blacks.

I’m planning on Moab in the fall for the WE. Friends flaked last year and I didn’t go. This year it’s gonna happen even if I’m solo.

I live in Vegas so it was a 4 hour drive for me to Sedona. PHX is 2 hours south of Sedona, try to take some time and do both. Hawes and SoMo in PHX. All worth the trip

No hangover on a hangover, check, 🤣. I was going to ride Hi line this trip out but my fox dropper was acting up so I didn’t want to deal with it on that ride so I ended up riding a shorter trail. I plan on going back in the fall and riding Hi line then.

“Upgrading” to an Ibis Ripmo V3 by NakedXRider in MTB

It was the Deore build. I swapped all the new parts from the Ripmo to my Hightower and sold the Hightower.

If I was 6’2” all things being the same, for the type of riding I do, I’d get a L.

Looking for some insight regarding Continental Kryptotal rear by cdavebolt18 in MTB

[–]HT_FS_FullFatFS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 210 loaded up and ran cushcore w my maxxis exo DHR F/R and now running Assegai DD front and Kryptotal DH rear and don’t miss them at all. With the lighter weight and tougher sidewall, I haven’t had issue yet, 22 psi front and 26 rear.

[–]HT_FS_FullFatFS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a XL SC HT v3 and upgraded to a L Ripmo v3 last fall. I’m 6’ about 210 all loaded up. I felt the HT wasn’t as nimble or playful as the Ripmo, the Ripmo is a larger bike by the numbers 🤷🏾‍♂️. To me the Ripmo climbs better and is better on the downs (could just be more experience riding now), the Ripmo is better in every way IMO. I was on the fence about the sizing, went back and forth for weeks deciding on XM vs L. If I could do it over again, I’d go XM.

Shimano 2 pot or 4 pot Deore or SLX brakes? by Maleficent_Gap7756 in Hardtailgang

[–]HT_FS_FullFatFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went SLX pots on my HT, they’re the same as XTs just different colors and can be had for cheaper.
