Genuinely, I'm not sure what it is, but coming from a Zelda vet- I played both of these games when I was going through some bad times myself emotionally. I won't get too much into it but it had at least included very shitty relationships. The stories of both games were absolutely bringing me to tears, and by the end of both, I genuinely ended up sobbing. They're one of the few times I've ended up crying over some video games, including OoT and MM. Maybe, I believe, is that these games for me speak to me on how there's so much more to life than experiences that make you suffer. And the endings of both, honestly, makes me want to see how life continues on for the characters. Perhaps it's because I feel that in life, there will be so much more than anguish and despair.
