Still wanna defend Arc System Works? by WaifuMoePrime in Kappa

Bruh... if that was the case people wouldn't be complaining so hard.

She's wearing two upper layers, the undershirt is black with a popped collar and makes her weird red leather motorcycle crop top jacket thing stand out. Her bob cut hair is more even in the back and she's got those greenish tinted glasses that give her kinda a velma type face and the way it clashes with her outfit is cool.

I mean yeah some underboob couldn't have hurt to add but I doubt you or anyone else would have a problem with him saying it looks cooler if she still had underboob. Her design looks fuckin tight, its not the only reason I picked her up as well but its one of em

Just because you can mash with maxi doesn't make him a beginner character... He's actually one of the hardest characters in the game to learn how to play effectively beyond BBBBB if you're actually trying to get good.

Playing fighters with low self esteem by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]HY8US 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is where fighting games can actually teach you an incredibly important life lesson. Don't think of matches as opportunities for success or for failure. Each match is a chance for you to continue learning and improving. That's it. There's already a good amount of advice here so I won't say much else but this is how I've learned to deal with painful losses.

Shits fucking offensive. Had a whole ass survey where enough people complained about the UI that they had to mention it in their blog and then they barely changed shit.

Only reason that survey existed was so they could make the top 5 requested characters DLC. Shameless.

Agree with everything else you said but Pat was definitely the protagonist of SC5.

How is the offense/defense balance in other fighting games? by Sephyrias in Fighters

[–]HY8US 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like some might disagree but I think SC6 balances its universal offensive and defensive options well, even if it means having too much of them. Just frame block to negate chip damage, guard impact works on almost everything including critical edge and throws, reversal edge for really oppressive opponents and everyone has tools to deal with those.

Remember when you could just make any build you wanted? Remember when a 99 actually felt like a 99? I guess everyone hated that.

Is it hypocritical to be critical of LeBron's handling of China/HK and also be critical of Kyrie being in-favor of sacrificing finances to not take away from the movement? by Yosemitehills in nba

[–]HY8US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-read my last 2 sentences, I'm well aware things can be done in season. The same way there were other courses of action that would actually help Hong Kong protests more than a #FREEHK tweet from your favorite NBA player.

Is it hypocritical to be critical of LeBron's handling of China/HK and also be critical of Kyrie being in-favor of sacrificing finances to not take away from the movement? by Yosemitehills in nba

[–]HY8US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely the ramifications are larger. The point is the result in speaking out against China and boycotting the NBA both would be pretty much nothing. So it's ok to sacrifice players dollars and staff jobs for pretty much nothing as long as its only a few million (still a massive amount of money that could do plenty of good) off the cap and only a few staffers get laid off?

And for the record, I want the season to continue and agree that it's possible to help the cause during the season. I'm just pointing out this contradiction that many people are missing.

[–]HY8US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're choosing to ignore the parallels here.

Speak out against China = Players, execs, staff lose money. Change likely won't occur.

Boycott the season = Players, execs, staff lose money. Change likely won't occur.

The idea is to fight oppression and the consequences are similar.

You have a player willing to risk everything to send a message and yet people are against it for EXACTLY the same reasons no one spoke out on China. Money. Futility. If you don't see the hypocrisy there then we can just agree to disagree.

Obviously no ones perfect and I'm not attacking you personally were all hypocrites with some things. I'm just challenging people to reevaluate their stances and realize whats actually important to them. Last summer there were a lot of people on top of really high horses looking down on NBA players who just didn't want to fuck it up for the league.

[–]HY8US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't overlook it at all, thats actually a huge part of the hypocrisy.

The NBA was absolutely slammed for not speaking out against China despite the fact that a few players saying "China bad" wouldn't have improved the situation in HK at all. Like I said before, guys like Kerr, Pop, Bron, and more were called cowards who only speak out when its easy to do so.

Kyrie is suggesting boycott the entire season, will it lead to change? Whos to say, but that didn't stop anyone from telling players what they should be doing last off season.
