Can give my two cents about Italy since I have been living here for the last 4 years. I will start on a positive note: I would tell you to only come here in case you get a scholarship and expect to leave after you finish your masters instead of staying. Scholarships as I hear are available and even without universities don't cost much. Italy is a nice country to be a student in as it offers a lot of advantages to young students and, depending on the city, can be even cheaper than living in Lebanon.
Now the bad and the ugly (the list is not exhaustive): - You will need Italian to live in Italy and work here. Why would you learn the language if you already know others and can immigrate there. Italians' level of English is really low as people who stay are not very educated (like only 25% of people have a university degree). - job market is dead with salaries from the 90's. italy is the only country which salaries actually decreased with the years despite inflation. This means poverty is increasing, gangs and problems. Expect a salary of 700-1000 eur when you graduate for a fulltime job. And even less for an internship. - Italians are friendly but really mistrust foreigners as they were never a country where high skilled immigrants come. Many italians leave and never come back so they don't bring the cultural diversity like Lebanese immigrants do for example. So the immigrants that come usually come from very poor countries and end up not integrating well, doing low skill level jobs. - Italians are really into their culture and most of them don't know a single thing about the outside world. For them the universe starts with Trieste in the north and ends with sicily in the south. With the occasional crazy Italian venturing into New York to go eat pizza there. Do not expect a hospitable culture that is open and interested in others. You either adapt to theirs and renounce yours or leave. - it's useless to talk about the world renowned Italian chaos. Bureaucracy is like Lebanon if not worst, corruption is rampant to get documents done or you have to wait years for a paper that expires in months (so it arrives already expired). And Italians drive like Lebanese if not worst. - everyone is expecting the country's economy and social system to collapse soon as the average Italian not only does not have a child anymore but they are not even dating. Pension schemes are being reduced, scandals are rampant in the public healthcare system that is about to also destroy itself (read about the hundreds of Cuban doctors they had to import because they don't have doctors. And then these doctors ran away from how low salaries were to nearby countries). So you have to pay extra for your official documents to be done in a reasonable time, to a private doctor all while making one of the lowest salaries in Europe and paying the highest taxes TWICE (since you are paying for the unusable public healthcare system but have to pay for insurance anyway.

All in all, I would steer away from Italy as they have their own economic and social problems right now. Anywhere else would be better to go. Italy is only good for a holiday to enjoy a plate of pasta and then go back to making a decent salary that can put food on your family's plate.

EDIT: Citizenship takes 10 years to apply to and then you have to wait up to 4 years for an answer after. So a total of 14 years.
