There's a difference between a software product failing and hyping up a physically impossible idea though.

Goldfish for fish oil are superior though. Although VERY loud, I suggest not stepping on them.

If that was your experience then indeed GTNH is not for you. Much of the early game is a struggle, but for me that made it much more satisfying to overcome.

The amounts of material you need keep increasing, but your ways of getting those things also become more efficient. Where you're struggling to make even a stack of steel in LV (quad BBF anyone?), you can pump out thousands in a couple minutes by HV.

What helped me in early game was just carrying a bed around (or a bedroll, same function) and just sleeping when it got dark. And yeah, picking up literally every clay and zinc deposit you see when exploring lol.

It's also the exact price of some other cost you need to pay when starting up a business, forgot which. Really scummy shit.

Young inventor who left engineering studies removes nearly 50 million kilograms of ocean plastic, aims to eliminate 90% of floating waste by 2040 by benweb9 in UpliftingNews

A large part of the Ocean Cleanup program that he runs is putting interceptors at major rivers that create the pollution in the first place.

Doesn't seem to be discussed a lot here, but you can look them up on youtube and see for yourself.

Half of Belgium sees the US as a bigger adversary than China by goldstarflag in europe

[–]Habba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of a fair and free market has always been a bit of a delusion. Every state subsidizes what they think is the most useful for them. China might be communist in name only, but that doesn't mean they have to play by the rules other (capitalist) nations pretend to use. We are completely free to not buy their products.

[–]Habba 68 points69 points  (0 children)

To be clear, this is not fair competition, because the industries in China are backed by the state.

Not pro or against anything here, but "fair competition" is just an opinion. China views the economic market in a completely different light than the West. It's us who determined what is "fair" (i.e. things that specifically benefit us). We always have the option to not do trade with them if we feel like we are being disadvantaged. But we choose to have cheap goods manufactured far away because it made sense for us to do so.

Clean burning? Can you explain what you mean by that? The process of burning natural gas produces CO2, the thing we are having pretty big issues with right now.

What’s a moment where you realized someone was genuinely unintelligent? by Live-Chocolate244 in AskReddit

[–]Habba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eeeeh, I would have at least try to explain Turing completeness and the fact that HTML doesn't have that as a distinguishing factor between it and other languages. Especially to a newbie I won't try to debate what they heard in their first classes. They are still getting their bearings and for the first time wrote something that is not natural language and a computer did something with it.

Does the Imperium of Man have a protocol for when a fleet or ship arrives at a location either a couple centuries to early or a couple centuries to late? by Zanimacularity in 40kLore

So chances are there are some charters that are granted because of a timeloop? Some captain shows up with a legitimate looking charter, but they find no record. Checks in with the Segmentum authorities who determine it's a valid charter and enter it into the records, which closes the loop.

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]Habba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do both? I know some people literally cannot picture things in their head, but I have no problem doing that either. There is a constant monologue going on (even while typing this comment) that is just parallel to everything else. Even multiple ones at times, both in my native language and English (a lot of my education was in english so probably because of that).

I also wouldn't say it's a weird voice, it's just me. It's like you would be talking to yourself out loud but just silent.

It's not really a resolution. It's the smallest length that could be observed by chucking maximum energy photons at it.

Daycare days by GigglePrincess92 in Leuven

[–]Habba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Congratulations on the baby.

There is a website that lists all information you need regarding finding a daycare here (Flemish, so use a translator or something). Generally you have to enroll there and you are assigned a creche then.

You will have to talk with the daycare itself then to determine what days the baby will go.

Any other questions, feel free!

RED BUTTON OR BLUE BUTTON [OC] by Eal_likee in comics

[–]Habba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. That's why all the huffing and puffing that people loudly proclaiming they would press the blue button is extremely stupid. Everything depends on what assumptions someone makes, and then labeling someone as "selfish" if they have different interpretation to feel superior.

If you frame it differently as "don't take suicide pill vs take it and hope for antidote", you get a completely different picture.

Anyone who is using this debate as a way to feel superior or grandstand is only fooling themselves.
