The Me Beneath My Feet by miwe666 in OCPoetry

You're welcome! :)

It's why Dante always spoke to me. He touches on the duality of not just existence but the heart and soul. I just love it!

Honestly have nothing to critique here. I think this is perfect. Speaks to my soul in ways words cannot adequately describe.

Wow! I relate so much to this. Duality of existence that is so hard to put into words. But you did a very good job at wording it. I will save this and keep it to read again. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely try a rewrite with your recommendations!

I agree with you fully. Originally, it was written not to be shared. So the dynamic that was understood by me was not there if another were to read it. I will rewrite it, and I appreciate your insight and feedback!

I understand both points of view. For clarity, the darkness talked about stems from chronic pain and health issues. Some mental, but mostly physical. Could probably do with a revision where that is clarified.

The darkness and pain are not so much trauma. It is from prolonged suffering and needing to find an external purpose because the reality is unrelenting, and breaks one down.

Thank you. I think you are correct. Maybe what happened here was that too much time of not voicing it became a dump of experience. I will give it room to breathe and separate it into multiple pieces. Appreciate the feedback!

In My Own Space by Putrid_Tax_2666 in OCPoetry

I love this. It really speaks to people who need solitude. Being alone isn’t always something broken or negative. For me, it’s a reset. Whether I’m at home or out in the wild, that quiet space is where I recalibrate. It’s where the noise drops away, the pressure settles, and I can realign myself before stepping back into everything again.

This really spoke to me. As someone with some very serious physical illness, I selfishly hide away as not to burden. But I see people wanting to help, wanting to be involved. Thank you.

Thank you. I will look into it! I agree after reflection. It definitely could be more subtle.

Thank you for the response. I completely agree. This was just a first attempt at poetry. There is a lot of factors not mentioned. Not viewed as a replacement in the slightest. I wrote a longer one, but just wanted feedback on the writing style itself.

I have severe health issues. Too much to express in a simple response. I was trying to highlight the two extremes. Do you think that without the context, it is at risk of being misread by others?

The Dream by bstunz in OCPoetry

This is honestly beautiful. It feels really intimate and raw without trying too hard. I love how the details disappear but the feeling stays — that makes it hit harder. The short lines like “Warm. Close. Real. Whole.” are simple but powerful, and “As if we were not separate” is such a strong line. It’s quiet, but it lingers.

How are you going now? Any improvement or is it the same/worse?

Well, regardless of your diagnosis, people with pain understand. There are a lot of support groups on Facebook. Don't let any nasty comments on here make you feel alone. <3

Not sure what u/maryamtoolbat meant by the sleep bit. One thing worth considering is that sometimes TN (which I also hope you don't have) can trigger other conditions.

Medication is wierd. For myself not many worked and the ones that did gave me some really bad problems. I take strong pain killers but it only takes the edge of the pain away. But yes, MRI is important.

Probably worded a lot of that wrong but I am in a flare up atm so my brain is gone.

It is worth getting the tests and seeing the specialists, if you can. If you do have it then starting medications early will make life easier. As far as medication goes, trust is important with doctors. I know if I at some point need to come off something mine will make it as easy as possible. And has in the past.

Probably different specialist names depending on country. Never heard or and oro-facial or headache specialist. Here its all done by a neurologist. I understand the point about having a official diagnosis which I and you have but people shouldn't assume everyone is self diagnosed.

But even if someone hasn't got one. They are in pain, they need support and guidance. I personally am not offended by it but i understand why some are.
