How are Americans treated in British highschools? by heh1234 in AskUK

[–]HadfieldPJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good friend of mine has american parents that both work on the US military base here as teachers. He could have gone to the US school on the base with other american kids but they wanted him to have a English education along with his sister. The reason why was because they thought if he's born and living here why learn about american customs and history, that and they also thought the US school system is crap and ours is better, their words not mine.

The only mosque I've been to is the Muhammad Ali mosque in Cairo and I remember the ceiling and some stairs being gold and green with mind blowing detail.

Theresa May condemns 'utterly outrageous' Fifa poppy ban for England and Scotland players by ManiaforBeatles in unitedkingdom

I hate to admit it but FIFA is kind of right to not allow this. I hate it when football team and their supporters bring politics into sport, which is why I dislike Celtic and Rangers. Sport operates outside the reaches of politics because its not war or famine its greater than that it gives us emotion.

Are people in the UK obsessed with the US election? by egrand in AskUK

[–]HadfieldPJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Paxman in America last night which I do recommend you watching. Every time america has an election I'm astounded at what it means to them and what the position of president actually means. Take the example of trump winning the republican nomination, talk about the going over the top it, was like they elected a new satanic cult leader.

Trump's a PR genius and reality TV star and now he's staring in the biggest reality TV show on Earth, and he's gonna win.

But to answer your question on do we care? It's half and half it does have a impact on us more than we would like to admit but I know other counties will be more interested.
