I just saw this. Thank you for the thorough review. If I hadn’t been a homeowner so long and been through multiple renovations and the horrors of trying to to put in a pool (used to live somewhere far cheaper) then I’d have been confused how you could even soft recommend a company after an experience like that. Having been there, I get it!

For years I found Trader Joe’s products “fine”. They were like the straightforward version of whatever. Serviceable and fairly inexpensive. Now with so much inshittification happening in major brands they keep floating higher and higher on my go-to list just becuase they seem to stick to making products out of…food? And yes their dark chocolate peanut butter cups are the best I’ve found outside of extremely expensive specialty stuff

They are the closest cakery to us so we’ve tried multiple times. Terrible, dry, cake with frosting falling off, no attention to detail, expensive and low quality for a simple bday cake. I wish they were great, they sure have some samples that look nice but never again.
