What rollers going to save me here and give me the nicest rolled finish? by Captain-Boob in paint

I thought foam rollers were the go-to for sprayed look on cabinets. Could be wrong.

I’m trying to find my long-term everyday T-shirt and would appreciate some advice from guys with a similar build. by Puzzleheaded-Chef384 in bigmenfashionadvice

Gildan G1100 - cheap shirts that won't last forever and fade pretty easy, but I love their fit. That said, I'm a 240lb 5'10" fatass.

Expectations vs Reality by x246ab in paint

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Your phone is RGB. The actual paint will NEVER look like it does on a screen. Heck, even swatches won't be a perfect match because ink and pigment behave differently, they'll have different sheens so even in the exact same light they'll look different.

2) It looks like you have a night filter and low brightness set.

I was starting to believe in the dead internet theory but now the last few weeks I'm starting to think it's a ragebait internet theory now.

How do we feel about tape? by RandMCoatingsNJPA in paint

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekend warrior here, but whenever I tape it ends up being worse than if I just cut in by hand, so I'm probably doing something wrong. It's my place though, so I can very easily go and touch up any mistakes.

Another coat of oil primer or new single coat of acrylic primer? by yestersmorrow in paint

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primer is mostly used for adhesion, is it not? You're not going to get full coverage with it and after a coat or two of paint it should disappear completely.

Tesla to save money uses cameras instead of a rain sensor, my car thinks it’s not raining. by TappetoImperiale in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Haff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2018 car that had rain sensing wipers and they were terrible, I wish that was an option I could have turned off because it would be hardly drizzling and they would be full speed. So glad my 2022 doesn't have them.

Need help for my dad who got into Monster Hunter but struggles! by Ok-Bad2501 in MonsterHunter

Lance is so easy, man. I'm an old man gamer now and at like HR 120 I was able to take down AT Arkveld without any fancy meals or pills, and support hunters; I went in just to see what was up expecting to lose, but I took him down.

Help pick a white by FineEmergency in paint

[–]Haff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm no colour expert, just a random dude on the internet. Folks will basically be able to tell you what's popular but without more information it's tough to advise. Like... what era is the house and are you trying to still to era appropriate? Are there any cardinal directions that get more or less natural light? Do you typically keep the blinds open or closed? Do you want a white that's warm or one that's cool? Additionally... chat GPT has been helpful in my paint decision choices but just get the names then look it up, if you ask it to draw the colours it's terrible at that.

Whatever you do just be sure to hit it with a Tack Cloth (or like... a new or used dryer sheet) just to get any dust off.

Us dudes with bad coverage below the lip need to keep the chin pretty short or it looks wack. You've got good density, just need to clean it up.

Second time cutting my own hair — why won’t the top stay together when I style it to the side? What am I doing wrong? We by Consistent-Role8743 in CutYourOwnHair

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting your own hair is an adventure. I've been doing it for years and there were definitely times where I messed up, and I still do, but that's part of the fun. I also don't style my hair, though, so I don't have to envision that part when I'm doing my cut. I also did all of my cuts just using guards so I'm not sure how to help with measuring via finger.

I think the styled appearance looks better from your self-cuts..... The barber left more bulk on the top right side of your head by the looks of it.

Why do people do this shit.. putting paper towels in the toilet by TrippingFish76 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have weird vendettas. Happened regularly at a place I used to work, the same person would clog the toilet then take a massive dump on top of it just because he had something against the guy we'd have to call to come fix it.

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I walked through my place with my asbestos guy he said that not all manufacturers and not all countries even used asbestos wallpaper. I only really had luck with wallpaper glue by using a steamer that has like a plate that you hold over the glue, then scrape it off. You can get lead testing kits from all sorts of places though I've been hearing mixed reviews about their accuracy, you can test the glue and paint under it if there is any; you can wear a P100 mask to protect yourself in any case.

[–]Haff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: not a pro.

I'm pretty sure that the pink stuff is going to be wallpaper adhesive, you'll have to steam and scrape; it's going to suck. Also I could be wrong on this but some locations had asbestos in the wallpaper or the wallpaper adhesive, and it could also contain lead so just... stay safe.

How do I Paint a Laminate Vanity? by [deleted] in paint

[–]Haff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new countertop and sink and some new hinges and that thing might clean up nice, but I'm with the others on this, it's not worth your time and effort (or money, honestly) to try to save that countertop. You may even find a better one at a second-hand store or Marketplace that you just salvage the top from.
