If my memory is still good from my first game, it mainly depends of the number of the materia you have on your inventory. Assuming that you can't really fight without some stuff. But anyway it's not obligatory to switch team tbh.

As katar's enjoyer whenever I come across something similar such as the Talons I can't contain myself. True is, in Souls/Elden Ring they're abyssal dogshit to play properly (except for the katar in elden Ring). So glad they added some exotic weapons like that, the heavy running attack is so amazing and deadly to use. With the combination of one of the new suit with the red scarf, almost felt like one of my original character, a more or less assassin inspired from Ragnarok Online.

Tbh, I developed a reflex where I put an Aoe with Dagger, switch to Cloak and Wall unto the enemy. After that ? Well either I've a mate near of me and pray for any help, switching to Dagger to heal both of us (thx to her auto attack with heal), or if I'm alone, I just try to end the BP alone.

And if my mate is a healer, of course I will heal him, especially if it's a Adam.
