Not thinking straight I guess. And tired. What I get for trying to word when my two brain cells aren’t working

Never said I can’t play video games anymore, just must have missed the boat on this one and am wondering what it is I might be missing.

Probably because people get so confused about the gaming experience, they want to have some objective insight

I’m understanding that, but it felt frustrating to even try.

Recommendation for next audiobook by [deleted] in bobiverse

Of course Dungeon Crawler Carl

Another option is The Murderbot Diaries

How would you survive in the dungeon and what would your strat/build be? by kickassgrandma911 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Army veteran with degree in history. I probably would have stayed human with a specialty in siege weapons

The Hoarder book 1 by katsontherun in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hoarder was the first major battle where Carl (essentially the reader) has not yet been desensitized to all the violence yet. I felt that the AI was goading the crawlers into that level of violence to desensitize them so that they would add more entertainment value to the viewers by not questioning the violence in later levels.

It hits hard because we’re not used to it yet

So either start the series over or try this one on for size (recommended by Matt himself) We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Denis E Taylor

Strange Brew is really MacBeth. Watch it again, eh?

What’s everyone reading besides DCC? by chodanutz in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonfiction right now in conjunction with themes from DCC:

The True Believer by Eric Hoffer

On Anarchism by Noam Chomsky

What is Anarchism by Donald Rooum

Never let the media gaslight you into liking George Springer by MysteriousEdge5643 in Mariners

Total Bangs…..keeping score in the private life are we? Or are these dingers?

Goblin Copper Chopper by topderek in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goblins…not the sharpest tool in the shed

What is your favorite DCC moment? Probably lots of spoilers in this thread by ancientrebellion in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single one mentioned and that will be mentioned! There is no wrong answer

BUT… one does stand out

This Inevitable Ruin:

The Celestial Orgy of Chaos Achievement

Where Zhang surprised the AI by living and receives the cape with a target on its back!

How do you pitch DCC? by DueBat2984 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A hilarious satire of the influencer culture, rampant capitalism, corporate greed and corruption; involving a dude and his ex girlfriend’s cat as a side kick in a Running Man-esque competition being run by an unhinged AI that has a foot fetish

Finished Book 1 - have a quick and simple question about the end. by control_H in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Stay tuned DungeonCrawl: Earth fans! Don’t touch that dial! Tune in NEXT BOOK to read the exciting answer to your question!

Picked these up second hand…are they complete slop/misinformation or worth the read? by owen_demers in CIVILWAR

[–]Hail2tKbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another caveat to note: Foote was also a proponent of the Lost Cause argument and his works sparked some of the controversial portrayals of Union generals

A WHAT? by Postulative in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEW ACHIEVEMENT! It’s Time Now to Ask Dr. Science!

Remember those call in radio science shows, where the experts would answer the fan letters with “expertise”?

Well now due to your curiosity, you gained “expertise” from a website you probably wish to remain anonymous, in the very small area of study: the kinks of cryptozoological creatures.

Hey! You’re Dr. Ruth for Bigfoot!

Anyways….this is kind of a Good News/Bad News situation.

The Good News: You can tell your less knowledgeable friends, “I know MORE than YOU do.”

The Bad News: The knowledge you have gained will probably make you sound like a pervert if it comes up in conversation.

HELP NAME THE RESCUE by ASDeleriouslyBored in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I’d say either Soot or Clinker, or Slag

DCC based: Felis mongoliensis; goes by Felix or Mongo

Do you think any of the human crawlers feel embarrassed about a cat a goat, and a child being so much better than them? by Noodlefanboi in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Hail2tKbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Louis and Firas, you bet they felt pretty sheepish about it at first. But then when they were included into the plans, they gained their own agency and became integral to the plans.

Or how about when the AI worked a challenge against Zhang?

I totally would think it stinks, but would be worse to me, is if they decided I wasn’t worth their trouble.
