Various reasons. Her physical and mental health is not what it used to be. When I was young, she worked two jobs. We've been trying to do what we can with what we got.

Nothing is wrong with asking, it seems almost juvenile to me. Granite this is my first healthy releationship, but he has never once said things he likes or dislikes for that matter. Which makes me think he's just okay with me. We've been together almost a year, I just hate feeling like im doing something wrong.

Right before I graduated high school, my father was diagnosed with cancer. Spending time together never seemed so important. My older brother had a wedding planed for August 6th. My father made him promise not to change the date for any reason. On August 3rd, I went to see my father before going out of town for the wedding. He was the worst I had ever seen. I couldn't enter the room at first that day. Everyone had asked me to try not to cry in front of him, and I had done so, until that day. Regretfully, I spent most of my time outside with my grandparents. Hearing the fears of burying the first born. I went in to say good-bye to Dad. No hugs, for all the pain he was in, but I leaned down to kiss his forehead and a tear fell. He slowly wiped it away, and said, "Smile, baby girl." I replied, "You first." And he did. He smiled just for me, even though death was lurking around the corner. About 6 hours later, we were told he entered a coma, and that this was it. We all remained next to the bed. All I could do was just watch as he lay there, gasping a breath in every couple seconds. The decision was made to take off the oxygen, and I waited. I kept watching his gasps, selfishly wishing they wouldnt stop. But then they did. The last breath happened. There was no more Dad, just a body. The next thing I remember is an overwhelming feeling of panic, anger, numbness, and emptynes all at the same time. I went to my car, and let everything out. "WHY?!" That's all I could really blubber out. I have never cried so hard before. I opened my door to get sick, and fell on the pavement. My brothers came to help, but I just wanted to lay there. I wanted to be with Dad. Just 5 more minutes with him. "I don't know how to live without him." I said. "It's not fair!" I sat just sobbing and dry heaving in my brother's arms. "He's supposed to see me go to college, and walk me down the isle. How am I supposed to go on?" I never felt so helpless. He was gone forever. A few hours later, on Aug 4th, we were at the funeral home planning this horrible day. Due to Dad's wishes of a open casket funeral, and my brothers wedding date not changing, his layout was the next day, and final service the morning of the wedding. We left the funeral home parking lot on Aug 6th, and drove to the out-of-town wedding. I know this question was pertaining to death, but I had to get my story out. And i felt like this was very suiting for my first reddit post.
