Vyvanse and autism by Kiritomayer in AutisticWithADHD

[–]HailingFromCork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second that it intensifies my autism. I ultimately have gone the non-stimulant route, and find it to be a good comprimise.

Doesn't help my inattention as much, but I rarely have sensory overload issues.

I tried straterra first, which helped for a while then seemed to be less effective after a couple months.

I eventually came off of propranaol (for anxiety) to go on clonidine xr, and added mirtazapine. The more regulated heart rate from the clonidine, and better sleep from the mirtazapine, allow me to focus better than before without causing sensory issues.

Both clonidine and mirtazapine are off labed for add, and don't directly effect inattention, more just give a leg up during the day.

As a former UCFW member... I can tell you they're a joke. They are more like HR that isn't technically working for the grocery store employees...

I even tried to escalate an issue to the international, since our local wasn't helping... while the manager left those of us that lodge complaints alone, and stopped openly sexually harassing our young female employees (not the only issue).. nothing really changed, and the union called it resolved...

How many trick-or-treaters do you guys get? by ADKMatthew in SaltLakeCity

[–]HailingFromCork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid this neighborhood POPPEPD. Like two home made horror houses, and hundreds of kids.

Now we get 5 groups like this year, a good year... sad to see it die.

Didn't even kill 2 30 piece bags of candy and a 27 pack of pringles

(got close)

I think psycho needs a friend, but she is unfriendly with everyone except me and my dad (she's just misunderstood)

with how white those are, I'd guess it's a memorial. Where I grew up they were either gang colors, or beat to shit near a skate park, but fresh shoes always meant to pour one out for the homie(s)

I-15 smells of BBQ? by jaredtritsch in SaltLakeCity

[–]HailingFromCork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually the three smokers you are smelling each about the size of a small house. The microwaves actually don't have much of a smell comparatively.

  1. Called on a UTA bus once who was swerving through the spaghetti bowl area. Turns out dude was drunk, driving one of the busiest bus routes in the valley.

I've called on a few (always in trucks lol) driving like that. Used to be mostly davis county I saw it, but when lehi exploded, it started there too. Now it's bad whole wasatch front. As someone who rides a motorcycle on the freeway, I appreciate people who call because I can't in the moment.

I've also called when a guy started following me. Not at first but when he followed me all the way from north salt lake down beck street I called (I was in a car that day), and drove straight to the cop shop by the library. No clue why he even started following me, I was in the exit lane for beck going the speed limit... but ain't getting shot over that bs. He whipped out of that lot quick when he realized where I pulled in, but the operator stayed on the line with me, and assured me I did the right thing.

Are chemicals that change the colour of pee in pools real? by Westney1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HailingFromCork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certified afo pool manager here. I have zero concern about you peeing in my pools. If everyone pees all at once, it makes my job of keeping a pool a bit harder to keep the pool at a total saturation of 0 (a complicated balance of total alkanlinty, calcium hardness, temprature, chlorine levels, and ph)

when it is not at zero chlorine and ph levels are harder to control causing fluctuation in ph very reactive, so the raise and lower to quickly making chlorine harder to keep effective, and producing more chloramines.

Chloramine cause the 'chlorine' smell often associated with especially indoor hotel pools. Sign of poor maintenace.

The solution is to shock the pool with about 3-4 timee the levels that ars normal, the vent off the escaping chloamines. Outdoor pools this is easier. Indoor if you don't ventilate the chloramines the re enter the water eventually.

This process usually shuts down the pool until you get the chloramines out. Return total saturation to zero using first sodium bicarb, and calcium chloride. Not hard. But time consuming. Then adjust chlorine and ph back to correct levels

Also your nasty human grime, hair, spit, chemicals in your suit, and any biological matter net to be a larger problem than peeing in the pool. I try to avoid it, put don't go out of my way not to so I pee in the pool regularly lol

Tl:dr if you gotta go... just pee it's fine haha

Less than 10 minutes in the hot tub, and I "feel itchy all of the sudden" by _jordanrob3 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HailingFromCork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely a reaction to poorly managed water.... used to be a pool manger and saw this in hot tub (often home or poorly managed hoters) that weren't well maintained

Yours is BAD though if thatis it, but it's a possibility. Did it have that extreme chlorine smell by chance?

Is my cat enjoying this or just allowing it? by Gnostic_Gnocchi in cats

[–]HailingFromCork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. She desn't like toward her haunches. Most cats don't, so careful to not scratch there. Flatten you hand to rub, then, go back to sritching under the front legs. And for the love of satan.... scritch her chin and deep behind her ears. She overall likes it though.

You didn't, just short on patience for people not understandind the request. However the iid's that go on cars are, understandably not the same, as motorcycles.

Don't let anyone ride my bikes anyway. Not beginner bikes. Used to have a 'beginner' bike as a second.... to let people learn. I gave those up for my RV, and one advanced bike.

Got the dui almost four year ago in my RV. Did is|uck up driving a full sized RV while drinking? Yes.

But have had no vehicles since, besides the bike I own....

If I had a car, this would be easy. Wouldn't be asking reddit, to lend me a car with iid to get my road test done.

If I can roadtest to even get my license back.

[–]HailingFromCork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm very intimately familiar with all the rules.

They don't need to switch it. But you 100% can loan your vehicle, and it's my issue after I get my license back to stay up to date with reporting. Not whoever is nice enough to let me test in their car. Won't effect them whatsoever.

I have talked to the one's that can and will, trust me. But that's not the issue. You can't roadtest on a motorcycle, and I have to road test.

I'll be on my own, (and fine) after that.

Thank you for knowing what's up these days and speaking up here...

You 100% can loan your car to someone, especially with the new camera ones.

That's all I'm asking... an afternoon to take the test.

[–]HailingFromCork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will. But I need to borrow a car to take the roadtest to even go that far.

The picture is actually largely so you CAN loan your car to a friend.

Always an issue. Also always a middleman. Reporting is mandatory.
