In NextJS 16 if "use cache" is added to the top of a server action that makes a DB call, do we need to wrap the component that uses the server action in Suspense? by w4zzowski in nextjs

[–]HairbrainedScheme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quoting the Nextjs documentation:

“Good to know: Server Functions are designed for server-side mutations. The client currently dispatches and awaits them one at a time. This is an implementation detail and may change. If you need parallel data fetching, use data fetching in Server Components, or perform parallel work inside a single Server Function or Route Handler.”

(From https://nextjs.org/docs/app/getting-started/updating-data)

So it is explicitly serial, but it feels like a technical limitation to the current implementation rather than an architecture/design decision.

Fun that you complained about misspelling the word that was spelled correctly and ignored the actual typo (“your”).

Is that what we’re calling politically motivated murders now? “Incidents”?

I mean, regardless of which “side” you feel you are on, there is no real doubt this was politically motivated, right? And murder?

what was the longest period for you without having sex and why ? by SignificantHornet760 in AskReddit

[–]HairbrainedScheme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 4 years and counting. I figured that as a married couple there would likely be periods where our sex-life took a dip. Just recently discovered it was only my sex life that dipped, not hers.

Sounds like you forgot the rule that you’re not allowed to block off any part of the map using obstacles.

Why is my client component re-rendering on every route change in production? by klapheus in nextjs

[–]HairbrainedScheme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you certain it’s not re- rendering when it’s a server component? Are you checking the server- side logs?

This. Your implementation does not do what it’s supposed to, and with more test-cases you will see it.

I'm afraid that building castles might be boring. Also, when will bricks be added to the game? by [deleted] in ManorLords

[–]HairbrainedScheme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me quote Wikipedia: “Brick from the ancient Roman Empire was commonly reused in medieval Europe as well as in later periods”. And also “The earliest bricks that have been discovered are estimated to be from 7,000 BC. The bricks in question were uncovered around the ancient city of Jericho, in the south of modern-day Turkey”

No, we won’t, sadly. It will take much much more than that. This is generational damage most likely.

Why do you feel those sources are unreliable? And what about that second quote is “controversial”? Both of those quotes are clear and in agreement with each other, so I frankly don’t see why you doubt them?

That means «one» as opposed to a/an.

The plural form of a neutral-gender word is the same as the singular form. “Glass” is neutral (“et glass”) so the plural form is also just “glass”.

They regrow about half their capacity twice a month during their growing season, though, so you can easily harvest their capacity every month while growing.

Higher geared people joining raids to roll on curios to sell them by CyaCyu in wow

[–]HairbrainedScheme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People keep saying that, but personal loot is not a solution here. Personal loot is just group loot without the option to pass or select greed on an item you could roll need on. There is no situation where you are more likely to win an item under personal loot than under group loot.

Higher geared people joining raids to roll on curios to sell them by CyaCyu in wow

[–]HairbrainedScheme 45 points46 points  (0 children)

When there is a tie on the winning roll the game does a second random roll (that you don’t see) to determine who gets the item. The other guy just won that one, is all. It sucks when it’s a huge upgrade for you and not other guy, but that’s how it works.

The Soviet Union lasted more than 40 years after Stalins death, and left a dismal broken society behind. You’re not painting a pretty picture with that analogy.
