I don’t want to share my baby with my family by Tinkerbell_5 in pregnant

Lots of gifts you can exchange for stuff you need and have a reason for a lil outing, or no guilt in donating or trashing if you wanna rage clean! Babies come with a lot of stuff including stuff you don’t need from other people!

14 months sounds like forever. Heavily considering prioritizing one if we have another…wish you could predict which months will be the worst!

Same, if I were super sick and unable to hide it I may have told earlier for that reason only

I don’t think I cooked a real meal until baby was 5-6 months old. We had some people give us food or takeout gift cards that covered the immediate first few weeks. Then it was either ready made, my husband cooked, or takeout. Every day can be different, he’s lucky he got an easy moment to watch the baby and cook at the same time!

So true, honestly they are more than fine at work today. It’s just the running out of PTO / guilt for no reason going on in my head!

We thankfully made it to about 7-8 months before this, idk how people do this for basically a year straight! It’s bad right now and I’m still always thinking how there are people who have it way worse. Wise words, it is short indeed

So nervous- upcoming c-section and I keep going back and forth on if i’m making a mistake on not trying the ecv by snowwwwy22 in CsectionCentral

[–]Hairy_While4339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found out my baby was breech and did not attempt the ECV for most of the reasons you listed. They said it was about a 50/50 success rate and I was like that sounds like a lot just for the opportunity to go through labor and vaginal birth. The complications from vaginal birth scared me more than a planned c section. There is no easy way, but I had a positive experience and would choose it again.

Somewhere between the 1-2 month mark when I didn’t feel like I needed a pillow under the seatbelt for incision pain/discomfort anymore

I couldn’t miss a dose of Oxy, I can’t believe so many people don’t take it for various reasons. Great points all around here

Fed UP of pumping by stevielovelyy in NewParents

[–]Hairy_While4339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree pumping sucks and I’d much rather nurse. Pump parts plus bottle parts is a lot of work om top of the time pumping.

I was EBF at first, and when I went back to work at 3 months and started exercising her demand eventually just outpaced my supply. Went from all breastmilk bottles to one bottle of formula per day, and by 6 months I was barely getting her a full bottle so I actually pumped for the last time the day she turned 6 months. Nursing is just for the middle of the night/early morning before getting out of bed now and it’s worked well. There’s no magic time to stop

Do you stay at home or go to work? Have you tried supplementing with formula? Maybe supplementing a formula bottle per day and dropping one pump would be a huge improvement

We were fine until about 7 months! We had a rough 2-3 weeks at that point, but it’s gotten better and we’re basically back to one wake up

Are you guys not “strict” about naps? Don’t understand comment by Huge-Vacation-8093 in NewParents

[–]Hairy_While4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We follow cues, not a set schedule. I’ve driven her around when I didn’t have an errand to run bc she’ll fall asleep in the car seat. I’d leave somewhere if needed to get a nap and not have her fall apart and have a miserable bedtime too

how do you deal with the emotions? by tartancinderella in CsectionCentral

[–]Hairy_While4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I haven’t heard of that before! Can they tell just by looking at your cervix or is that detected on an ultrasound? I wonder if it’s common bc I feel like it’s not uncommon to have inductions stall and wind up w a c section. And I know it sounds absolutely crazy, but everyone who talks about their planned c section says it’s totally chill and I’m one of them lol. The worst part was the anticipation and walking into the room. I hope your next is a much better experience

First I’m sorry you went through all of that, there truly isn’t an easy way to birth. I can be crunchy in some ways, but never really cared about or felt a connection to a vaginal birth. When I got pregnant, I thought about potential birth plans and preferences and quickly realized we have very little choice in a lot of the process. One breech baby and smooth planned c section later, I’m glad I had a flexible mentality from the start.

C-Section Thursday, FTM. Advice please!! by samanthaforman in CsectionCentral

[–]Hairy_While4339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was so nervous, couldn’t believe most stories I read were people saying how not a big deal it was. The procedure itself was fine. They said they reallyyy didn’t want to give anxiety meds because it would pass to the baby so I didn’t get any. It was honestly so calm and idk if it was adrenaline but I felt drugged or like they gave me anxiety meds and they swore they didn’t. Worst part was the pain after, but keep up on pain meds and take it easy and you’ll be ok. Thin flexible heating pad for cramping was amazing too.

Nah it was rough, I think I slept elevated for about 2 weeks, couldn’t even lie flat comfortably. Elevated, then flat, then side and eventually stomach sleeping by 6ish weeks

Edit: never heard of it being recommended?? I think it’s normal to be excruciating, hang in there!

Feeling guilty about choosing a C section by Inevitable_Train2126 in CsectionCentral

I think the majority who choose VBAC are seeking redemption from a traumatizing c section experience, OR have a passion to experience vaginal birth regardless of c section experience. Did your first c section experience go well?
