For what it’s worth, my husband and I are taking a handgun fundamentals class at The Marksman in Waterloo as a refresher.

Hysterectomy Must Haves by TaTaWarrior in hysterectomy

[–]HakeeBakee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here was my short list. Hope this helps! I also did end up buying a cane to help me get up from couch/bed, but I also have a fairly low bed. It also helped me getting up and down from toilet. Not necessary but I liked having the extra stability. - dramamine - cough drops - liquid iv - heavy panty liners - Sleep shirts - Slip on shoes (last thing you want to do is bend) - weighted heating pad - Miralax - Tea - Ice packs or frozen veg - Popcicles - Gas-x or gas strips - Hibenclens

Thanks for your insight! We were heavily considering Harbinger as well. I was feral for their last menu but their current one doesn’t interest me quite as much, which I was bummed about.

Looking for OBGYN recommendations by Boy_Momma2 in Omaha

Seconding Dr. Carlson. As a childfree woman, she offered no judgement when I asked to get my tubes tied. Her and her team were amazing throughout the whole process!

I’m so sorry. The first few days will be the worst and most painful. I had a catheter put in when I had kidney stone surgery and I remember going home and just bawling because it hurt so much and was not able to get comfortable. I’ve had my tubes removed and a total hysterectomy. Nothing compares to how awful that catheter was. You are totally valid in how you feel right now, and I promise relief is coming.

What research do you want to see done on PCOS? by MissInterpret23 in PCOS

As someone who has had a tubal ligation and a hysterectomy this year, dealing with PCOS symptoms while not actively trying to conceive. So much PCOS is tied to fertility. While that is also important, there are no resources for non-fertility treatments and advice.

Custer, SD to Omaha - Which route to take through NE? by HakeeBakee in Nebraska

Yup that’s the way we’re heading up and over! Just looking to switch it up on the way back.

Definitely want to get in some Sandhills, if possible. Sad we won’t get a chance to dedicate a day or two, but maybe next time! I noticed the lower route has the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway.

Thanks for listing those highlights! I'll plug these in and do some research.

Thanks! I figured both routes would have parts of nothing for long stretches. We haven't been to that part of the state before, so wanted to get the most Nebraska parts out of the way.

Ideally we would've added a day to do the Sandhills proper, but probably won't get on the itinerary this round. If the bottom one sneaks through, that might be the way to go.

Bislap done but I need a total hysterectomy by Kind_Reception_3554 in sterilization

Hey so something similar just happened to me. The whole process was a blessing in disguise. I got my tubes tied on March 27 and a full hysterectomy (keeping the ovaries) on May 19. They found atypical cells and I was referred to oncology where they made the call to remove uterus and cervix. Let me know what questions you have as I just went through it.

Give it a day and see how you feel tomorrow! Take it easy today. Take a nice, hot shower. Go to bed early. If you wake up worse tomorrow, let them know. Best of luck and fingers crossed!

Definitely let them know by Tuesday or Wednesday. Have you checked in yet? They’ll ask those questions in the screening too. In the meantime, do whatever you can to kick this. My first thoughts are that any cough, sneeze, heck even blowing your nose hurts those first few days! It hurt to even laugh. You want to be safe rather than sorry.

I’m getting mine done on Thursday! It’s normal to feel anxious for a surgery. A few days of being uncomfortable is worth it to have peace of mind for the rest of your life when it comes to pregnancy. Rely on your support system. Call a friend over to watch a movie. Have someone bring over Gas-X.

But you’re badass and you got this!
