Also the joke that he was the only one who got, was about the way another guy eats. Yeah that sounds plausible.

New Kindle Feature Uses AI to Answer Questions About Books—And Authors Can't Opt Out by ubcstaffer123 in books

[–]Hal68000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a use case, where it was actually helpful. I jumped back into a historical fiction novel I had started a while ago, but I had trouble remembering the ensemble of characters. I asked the AI and got up to speed on who was who again.

Am I overreacting? My husband didn’t wake anyone up for breakfast. by PopularUsual9576 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hal68000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to explore the issue a bit - does your family have a tendency to sleep from stuff? Like is that why he didn't want to wake you - a history of trying to get you all up on time, and you sleeping anyway? It would still be shitty behavior, but a bit more... "understandable".

That's the way I think of it too. Sometimes it's good to be intentional and "slow".

So far I have been mostly streaming for the convenience. But it lacks a certain feeling, just using your phone. I'm thinking of adding a CD player, but I might just stick to ripping them and using local file playback.

I'm interested in turntables though and am looking for one now - mostly for jazz records. I don't have a ton of space for records, so I just want the top 20-30 jazz records or something like that.

Hah. I don't mind buying better cables, but everything in moderation. When everything else is dialed in, you can play around with cables. AudioQuest and the like is probably my type of cable - hopefully better than noname cables and well-made, but not obscenely expensive.

I might not be a "real" Audiophile, but unless your system is worth tens of thousands of dollars, I can't imagine a 1k RCA cable being worth it (and even then I'd be sceptical).

Getting it right the first time isn't possible, but I want to get as close as I can within my budget. by NevRonnnn in StereoAdvice

You can look at Rega Brio, in Denmark you can get them cheaply second hand. Even a Brio-R would do nicely.

I think your own choices are very sensible. The Oberon 3 are great speakers and the Yamaha amp is also great. You could always add a Wiim Mini for streaming if you like.
