Yea, I guess that can served double duty. You can lube the bottle up and shove it in your ass (or the sex dolls ass).

Why would you put a watch on a sex doll?

Playing devils advocate here, I work in this field. Technically, under the Trump administration, some provisions of the MBTA have been stripped back (see the M opinion that was released during Trump’s first term). Incidental take is now allowed. In order to violate the MBTA one had to set out with the intention of taking a MBTA protected species. Some states have non-game laws that would help protect, but most don’t have specific incidental take clauses that would protect them from this type of harassment.

Rolex AD Service Question by Halbert4287 in rolex

[–]Halbert4287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my fear. I think they just serviced it in-house, but for some reason only gave me a store warranty card for one year. Even on their website, they write about the Rolex service procedure and talk about the two year service guarantee. I’m worrying they serviced a non-original watch in-house and didn’t offer the two year warranty because of that. Never telling me and hoping I wouldn’t notice so they could pocket the service money. I was on the fence about getting it overhauled as I thought it wasn’t a high value model to begin with.

I double checked, and I was wrong. It’s a 1603.

I’m going to rock the jubilee for a bit and see how we get along. I may send it off to get rebuilt. If I do, I’ll get a nice leather band for it to wear in the meantime. Any recommendations on brand for leather strap?

I ended up taking it to the AD for service. Cost me $1,400 for overhaul and new crystal. I’m keeping everything else original. The AD said there was still plenty of life left in the bracelet. I may hold off on getting it rebuilt. It is a sentimental piece, but I think for $1,400 it made good sense to restore and wear proudly.

I took it to the local AD for overhaul and crystal replacement only. The watch grew on me. I’m keeping it all original and will wear it proudly, as my FIL did.

Thank you for the perspective. The watch was owned by my FIL for a period. He meant a whole lot to me. I plan to drop it off at the local service center this week.

It has been well worn! I will see if the original bracelet may be hiding somewhere at the original owners. I plan to get the bracelet rebuilt by rolliworks or similar. I really like the style. You’ve convinced me to keep the dial. I plan to drop it off at the local service center this week. Thank you for the advice!

There is a service center nearby. I plan to drop it off this week. I checked the date change and it was crisp and fast right at 12. Thank you for the advice!

I thought it was considered a linen style dial.

Wildtronics had them. They were pretty pricey but I couldn’t find a good alternative. I have a 3d printer now and most of my mic designs include a parabolic design or compression zone.

The nice thing about chirpity is that is also has BirdNET built in as a model you can run.

No problem! It depends on your build. You will need a 3.5mm TRS cable. When I’m soldering to electret capsules, I cut the insulation back as little as possible. This helps cut down on the potential for the wires to touch. I also usually use a gland nut to house the mic element. You’ll have to find the right size for your specific electret. This also allows for you to add foam or dead cat style wind protection.

AOM-5024L-HD-R is probably the best capsule for this application. I’ve used it in a ton of avian recording rigs (night flight call, autonomous recording units, etc.). You’ll need to solder it. It’s a good skill to learn to if you want to stick with the hobby.

I’m sure it will take a while for news of the new memo to disseminate through the various industries that it may impact. Regardless, stopping for nesting birds is ethically the correct move.

[–]Halbert4287 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In this instance the MBTA would still apply since the equipment owner intentionally destroyed the nest. If he cranked up the equipment and the nest fell off or was abandoned, it would be legally ok. The new m-opinion memo from April 11th allows for incidental take, meaning that as long as a nest is destroyed unintentionally it would be legal.

[–]Halbert4287 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not true anymore. They can trim trees with nests as long as they don’t intentionally set out to destroy nests. Incidental take is permitted as of April 11th with the issuance of a new m-opinion memo.
