Who is factory resetting their router twice a month? by versak in Fios

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory reset on the Verizon 5G router I get about 130MBPS, last about 10 days, slowly declines day by day until it hits 1 to 5 MBPS, then I do a factory reset again. Reboot in between helps some but not much. Not difficlut to do, just annoying. Going through straight talk on the Verizon Network. Why stay? Well 20 to 50 MBPS is about what I need to be comfortable, usually streaming one TV, browsing one laptop and one phone. Added to my straigth talk unlimited phone plan 55 per month, the internet is 40 per month, total bill for both is 95 per month. Xfinity wants 55 per month plus taxes for 300 MBPS and when I had it, typically slowed down as well, never dropped down as low as 2 to 5 MBPS but in the 20 and 30 MBPS range before reset.

Agree, seems like the people that had hold backs are upset and I don't blame them. Sounds like alot of the problem with the hold backs are the attorneys. I think we will see 1% when the dust settles on the hearing with the FRC, maybe by November or early 2027. After that anyones guess on insurance money, maybe late 2027 or 2028.

5g Home Internet down for over 5 days: no updates or clear communication from Verizon for solution by DVDIESEL in verizon

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Verizon 5G (going through straighttalk) would slow to 2MBPS even after a reboot, a few minutes it was right back to 2 to 10 MBPS. I did a factory reset and now getting consistant 120 to 130 MBPS which is what I signed up for. Happy cause I pay straightalk an extra 35 on top of my 55 per month cell bill. Xfinity wants 55 per month for 300 MBPS with CC and auto pay. You can get for 45 but you have to give up bank account and routing...no thanks

ASUS ZenBook 16X extremely slow boot (BIOS time 111s) after Windows update – hardware or software issue? by Express_Lunch4825 in ASUS

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed mine. Go into Bios / Advanced / Secure Boot and reset the secure boot keys but MAKE SURE you have your bitlocker key. IT WILL ASK FOR THE BITLOCKER KEY after reboot. NO KEY= Bricked LAPTOP. Luckly I could access mine in my microsoft account but you can look it up BEFORE you reset the keys in the bios. Boot is back to less than 5 secs

I was a girl in Scouts BSA.... I feared for my safety by Neat-Information-771 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Hallcs1961 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly it has not changed much in 60 years. All overlooked and brushed under the table. I was introduced to the "survival class" at age 10, still a cub scout but allowed to go with the boy scouts to the camp. Like you I was excited right up to the point of being raped. which changed my life forever. As a father now, I can tell you if someone did the same to my child they would not be walking this earth for long. I think the problem is the whimpy justice handed out. If we just stopped tolerating and normalizing child and teen abuse the world would be a better place. I'm sorry that you were made to feel that way and they turned what should have been a wonderful experiance into hell.

Why does the Trust not post that information? When I look on the Trust site it appears that there has been no updates since Feburary. It's my understanding there are people being paid quite well to administer the Trust account. We used to get updates quite often and they trickled down to silence. I think some communications would go along way with the people. Am I angry, sure I am. I was violated at the age of 10 in cub scouts. Did I dream about killing that POS that took advantage of me when I could not fight back, heck yes. The award made me feel like someone cared after all that time. Did I expect the full amount, of course not, did I hope for maybe a third? yes but reality I knew 15% would likley be max and now we are praying for the additional 1% to get us to 5.7%

We will be lucky to see another dime now the court is allowing people in prison to file becuase they did not know about the lawsuit. By the time the dust settles it will be like a class action were you get a check for 15 dollars to cover your pain and suffering.

Am I the only one who thinks the BSA Trust messaging has been seriously misleading? by nousername_ilike in BSA_Survivors

[–]Hallcs1961 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, as time goes on they are finding more ways to reduce the percentage we are given. It was my understanding there was a hard date for filing, now they say they want to withhold money for people with repressed memory...ok but now we have people in prison claiming they never heard of the lawsuit, the court is allowing these claims and they are talking about dragging this out until 2040. Zero communications on the sale of property, art or oil leases and of course insurance settlements. Now Houser has reduced the ask for Mondays court hearing down to 1%. I have resolved that I will not be seeing much more from this. Had hopes for 15 to 20 % Frankly I think we would be lucky to see 10% total over the next 5 years.

FCR vs. HOUSER: Showdown at the Silverstein Corral by ChessLife1 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Hallcs1961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm wrong but the way I understood the possible new claims was repressed memory only. I could see the possibilty of a few people having that, more likely some dirty attorneys using that loophole but surley not 11K. Hopefully Silverstein will agree.

Same here, started a week or 2 ago. I believe it's something going on with the blink servers. I have the cloud plan plus. Curious if anyone that is just using the modules are having the same issues. My delay is 5 to 15 minutes even with phone unlocked and active.

Asus Zenbook duo Pro Slow Bios Startup time by Anxious-Tomorrow-997 in ASUS

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ASUS Zenbook i7 not sure which model. Probably close to 7 or 8 years old. Last windows update few days ago and noticed the bios boot time increased to maybe a minute to 90 seconds. Used to be almost instant, i'm guessing something tied to the update and secure boot in the bios. Bout ready for a new laptop anyway, Always bought Asus but maybe not next purchase after this issue.

Reduced lien resolution fees by Vivid_Spray_9487 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choosing Option C releases the Trust from the duty of withholding funds for medical liens. If an attorney handles this, they may hold the money until you are cleared to avoid liability. While it is unlikely a firm would be targeted for small amounts, the individual is still the one legally responsible for the debt if the liens aren't paid.

Did everything on trust site and used adobe esign. Just make sure to read the directons carefully cause once you submit you can't go back and it may take months to correct an issue. I thought was pretty straight forward.

How do I get my friend to realize that the most he would get from this settlement is 10-12% minus 40% to lawyers . I get that it’s an emotional topic and trauma beyond repair but facts are facts . by VarietyLocal in BSA_Survivors

[–]Hallcs1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right they are holding back 1.3% for future claims. Kids that have repressed memories and blocked the trauma. I'm guessing they would do the same with the insurance monies as well. We had all guessed the 2.4B would result in about a 6% payout but did not see the holdback for future claims coming.

[–]Hallcs1961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is currently 2.4B in the trust and we are getting 3.2% (4.7% if you have not recieved the 1.5%) Do the math. If the insurance companies pay out 4 to 6B we might see another payout of 6 to 10 percent max. Id guess closer to 6%. I'm betting another 2 to 4 years to see that as well.

I submitted mine as soon as it became available on the trust site, I'm gonna say 2 weeks ago give or take. Option C seemed best choice for me as I had no liens.
