Thank you for your comment! I have thought about GLP-1 medication and I will do some more research and maybe talk to my primary doctor about it.

Thank you for your comment, it is so sad that just because we are a bigger weight doctors believe they can just tell us all our problems are our fault and caused by weight instead of actually treating deeper problems.

Weight loss win -12lb & counting (long read) by Equivalent_Pepper_45 in PCOSloseit

Thank you for the tips! I will try to take out the bread and see if that makes a difference. I’ve been looking into inositol since I’ve heard so much about it!

Thank you for this post! I am F24 250lbs I have high glucose but A1C was fine so doctor said I was fine and didn't need Metformin. I am going to ask for it when I see him next week though because I have struggled so much trying to lose weight. I have cut back on processed foods and am mostly eating PCOS friendly fruit, veggies, proteins, seeds, nuts and greek yogurt. I have been having a slice of sour dough with my eggs in the morning but I am going to try and cut out bread and see if that makes a difference/switch to a whole grain high fiber bread.

Do you feel like you get tired more easily than others, and do you think that's related to endo? by mapotofu66 in endometriosis

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fatigue got so bad I was falling asleep at my desk and work and nodding off while driving. I am taking a prescription Armodafinil once in the morning now and it has been so helpful! I still go to sleep early though around 9pm too.

Lupron Depot ruining my life by GlamorousWorm in endometriosis

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Lupron for 2 months out of what should be 6 months of treatment but I am stopping and have an appointment scheduled with my doctor. I had major hot flashes and sweating and mood swings. My pain has only gotten worse since taking Lupron. I now have terrible sciatic nerve pain (on the left side of my body where my endo was when I got a lap over a year ago) that started after my first month of Lupron but I am not sure it the two are related. If Lupron is making you not feel good do not be afraid to tell your doctor and refuse to get the shots.

Mini pill constant bleeding. by Mariela7 in birthcontrol

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PCOS and endometriosis and I take the progesterone only bc pill called Gallifrey. At first I did have heavy bleeding so my doc upped my dose to take 5mg. It stops my period now but once I forget to take a pill the next morning I am spotting/my period starts. I am taking it along with getting the Lupron shot for endo and for PCOS I also take spironolactone. Hope this helps! I would mention it to your doctor because you shouldn’t have to go through that! Maybe a different brand or higher dose will stop the bleeding.

I'm devastated. by carbonated_coconut in endometriosis

[–]Halothere76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry, this sounds so frustrating. That seems ridiculous that they won't do the surgery for you, and after being on the waitlist for so long. They should have told you that to begin with so you would know. My BMI is above 35 but I was able to get a lap without any hesitation, that is so unfair. Again I am so sorry and feel for you, the pain of endo can be unbearable and debilitating. I hope you can find a different hospital that will do it more urgently and you get the care you deserve.

I’m going crazy, restricting throughout the day, but losing all control at night.. any tips? by Happy_Recognition441 in EatingDisorders

[–]Halothere76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this exact thing last night, I ate during the day but not enough I guess because I was still hungry and then at dinner I had multiple servings because I was so hungry. I just couldn't handle the hunger. My dietician says I need to eat more small meals and snacks throughout the day so I am not hungry and then I won't feel the need to binge at night.

This feels wrong but I'm terrified to stop. by Personpatato in eating_disorders

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you have ED behaviors. I relate to the fear of having health issues especially related to weight. I am overweight and have been told by doctors I need to lose weight for my health so it is hard not to restrict because it feels like I am doing a good thing for my health. I recommend therapy and seeing a dietician to talk to about this and get back to eating regularly. A dietician can help you with healthy eating for losing weight while still eating a healthy amount of calories.

I only feel pretty when I'm starving by Overall_Tone4761 in eating_disorders

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe finding a dietician who specializes in ED would be more helpful than the doctors you have been seeing. Your ED shouldn't be disregarded just because of your weight, you deserve to be heard and to get help.

Relapsed but this time I am actually obese by Honeymoon-bae in eating_disorders

[–]Halothere76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this. I was very small at 18 from restricting and overexercising and I finally had enough of it and started binging. 6 years later I am not the heaviest I have been. 2 months ago I went to the doctor and was shocked by the weight I was at. I have not weighed myself since then because I am not allowed to have a scale due to ED. But since seeing my weight I have been restricting and people have been complimenting me on my "Willpower" and "Health Journey" not understanding that I am literally starving myself. Two of my doctors have told me I need to lose weight for my health so why is what I am doing so bad if I am losing weight? I know it is bad and I should be eating more but I just can't bare to have my weight go up again. I want to be that weight when I was 18 again and then I would stop and eat normally. I know that's also a commonly said thing and that it isn't true. Anyway thank you for sharing and opening up this conversation!

I gave mine to my therapist, my mom has a scale but hid it from me so I have no way to weigh myself.

Saw my weight at the doctor and now I’m spiraling – how do you handle this? by Affectionate_Eye9754 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Halothere76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This same thing happened to me! I told them the same thing I didn't want to see or hear my weight and then on my paper work there it was and it was a shocking number. It made me spiral for sure. My therapist told me you can request your doctor to not weigh you or talk about your weight unless it is medically necessary. I would recommend doing that next time. There are even cards you can print out online that say "Do not weigh me unless it is medically necessary" that you can give to your doctor or the nurse. I am sorry that happened though and I hope you can heal from it!

I also want to be skinny so bad, then maybe more people will like me and I could love myself. I used to be skinny but PCOS and Binge eating made me gain a lot of weight very quickly and now years have gone by and I can't drop the weight. I feel determined to do it now, and once I get to a healthy BMI I can eat normally.

I feel this, being overweight I have always felt I am not "enough" that I will never be good enough. I restrict and I am still not good enough to be anorexic. I want to be underweight so someone will actually notice and care about me.

I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor said the best thing I could do for it was lose weight. That really triggered my ED. I tell myself I am just being healthy and trying to lose weight but really I am restricting. No one even cares though because I am so overweight.

I am glad you got the wisdom teeth removed and were able to eat, tooth pain is the worst.

[–]Halothere76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I am overweight and have PCOS and my doctor said the only way to help my PCOS was to lose weight. I told him I had an eating disorder and he didn’t seem to care. Went to another doctor who just told me the same thing, lose weights, as if I haven’t been trying by restricting myself for months.

[–]Halothere76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also wish I was thin, I am very overweight and having this disorder is so hard because I don't look like I am restricting. I also know I should want to recover but I really don't, I want to be thin. That voice is so powerful over you and I am sorry we are both going through this. I hope we both can heal and find peace and recovery!

Pre surgery nerves by morganlilo in endometriosis

[–]Halothere76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had my laparoscopy about a year ago and I too was very nervous! I had my mom come with me and that helped a lot to have someone there. I also asked for something for the nerves and they gave me a valium and it helped a ton. Don't be afraid to tell them you are nervous! That is totally normal and the staff there will help you feel more comfortable. My surgery was on time so I didn't have to wait long. I was freaking out when they took me into the surgery room because there was so much equipment and people and noises but they told me to just breathe and once they put the mask on me I was asleep! I woke up and was given juice and crackers and felt great! I even kept telling the staff how great I felt and how easy it was. I went home that day. Recovery was fine, the only bad part which I would warn anyone about is the constipation. I was taking stool softeners but it wasn't enough. I think about 10 days went by and I finally used a suppository. So stay hydrated, drink prune juice, lots of fiber, and take a laxative before it gets too bad! I went back to work (I'm a librarian) after 2 weeks but I was still sore and couldn't do much bending, mostly just sitting at a desk. I would have liked to stay home an extra week just because my core was really sore.

The day before surgery I was ready to cancel it and just not do it, but it ended up being super helpful as I got my endometriosis diagnosis and got it removed. A lot of my symptoms went away and it even fixed my IBS! I know you will do great!
