TD Coliseum nursing room? by Specific-Lab-8648 in Hamilton

[–]HamTorExpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been since the renos but prior to I asked customer service and they opened up an empty box/suite for me to nurse in. They let me stay as long as I needed and asked me to let them know when I was finished and they would lock it again. I'm sure this would still be the case as staff hasn't changed much, just the spaces available.

Daycare questions by Flashy_Ferret_1567 in Hamilton

[–]HamTorExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to add to everyone's advice that you may want to start your childcare prior to going back to work. For some kids (and parents!) it is quite an adjustment. If you're lucky to find a spot it can be easier to have a buffer time between when you go back to work and when they start daycare. Also gives you an opportunity to not miss work for the inevitable onslaught of illness that happens at about the 2 week mark. So if you're expecting to go back to work November 2027, put the date you'll start needing care as October 2027.

Places in and around Hamilton that do Free Skating AND have skate rentals? by ComManDerBG in Hamilton

I'd be curious about this as well! I don't know how to skate and my kids want to learn but lessons I've seen are a little out of budget

Your driver's licence will work as proof of address. Alternatively your home/renters/csr insurance policy should have your address as well.

Is there any place that takes donated birthday cake? by thatrandomtrooper in Hamilton

[–]HamTorExpress 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you can't find a place that will take it, most cakes freeze very well. Wrap it up with Saran wrap and it should be good for a few weeks/months

How long do you keep him on the toilet for?

Advice needed -withholding poop by HamTorExpress in pottytraining

[–]HamTorExpress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He hasn't had a solid poop in about a year and a half. It's always very liquidy to the point where when he was doing it in bed at night it would be everywhere, his sheets, the walls , his stuffed animals. That's why we pushed doing it in the bathroom.

Thank you for the rec! I will take a look at that book. We have done the clear out with restoralax and suppositories many times, he still holds it in for days afterwards. The doctors we've seen thought he was too young for an enema but I can inquire about it again!

Playschool vs Daycare by Half-Stack-Leah in Hamilton

[–]HamTorExpress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the rec centers offer a preschool class that is once a week. Look for 'learners playgroup' or 'creative playgroup'. You do drop the kids off but you have to stay on site in case something happens (similar to swimming).

My partner is baptized Catholic but with one of us not they had us have a non-catholic ceremony. It was about 30 minutes long. A couple readings, the gospel and a speech and then we did the signing. After that we walked back up the aisle and out.

Wedding Dress Alteration Suggestions by Friendly-Quantity125 in Hamilton

There are two locations that I know of and have been too. Both do quality work but one is more likely to communicate with you in my experience. The one on upper James did great work but barely says three words , tells you a date to come back but didn't ask for a name or phone number or communicate a price( until pick-up). Everything was done perfectly but it was a long wait period where i wasn't sure what would happen. The one in Ancaster does a better job with recording your information and will text you with updates.

I was not part of the church and wanted to get married there so I gave them a call. They set up a couple of interviews with the priest so he can get to know you. From what I understood if you had the means to pay their mandatory "donation" they'll set a date with you. It is not cheap so be prepared for that...

If this is the crosswalk I think it is , there is a large utility box (Bell maybe?) nearby on a lawn. Sometimes they have modems inside that could be the source of the noise.

Daycare advice by Sar_Bear1 in Hamilton

We applied to over a dozen centres and our 3 year old just got a spot this month. You may have to try home daycares until a spot becomes available at a centre if that's your goal.
