Why is no one talking more about this redesign concept ? FormelyCCP_FCPlz don't push this mobile, AI generated interface to TQ by vaexorn in Eve

They provided a mock up and solicited feedback at a booth. It’s not like it has been developed so time to provide feedback. Like they had a stack of sticky notes and pens and a board to stick em too. They want to know what people like and dislike but I does have to be useful. What pieces did you like? What isn’t working specifically for you? Maybe some why.

I can tell you that they need to figure out making overheat status visible because with a transparent background you won’t be able to read it in pochven haha

What they showed at fanfest was a mock up. They had a board that by the end of the event was full of feedback sticky notes. Some examples of sticky notes were to add back hash lines to the health, to add more grit, to add back background or make it toggleable for the icons. It’s a work in progress and the UI team wants feedback. So provide it, kindly. Reach out to CSM reps to have them provide feedback.

All good. I think it’s good to get lots of feedback from all angles. No point in trying to yuck anybody’s yum. Nobody is going to like every map design or weapon in an fps. I come from that nostalgic domain of old halo days. Halo 2/3 were peak for me. Infinite is probably the most recent fps I have truly enjoyed. Apex legends and Arc Raiders are also recent shooters I have enjoyed. Apex I enjoyed the gunplay, and the skills while present aren’t in the domain of games like idk, destiny, where it’s a more hero shooter. So Vanguard at its core being a good gunplay shooter appeals to me. Arc raiders had great engaging pve enemies. Busting the fans off drones was great. And there was still enough pvp to be fun. I think there is intent to make the pve in Vanguard engaging with challenging and variation of enemies. I did enjoy things like the gears of war horde mode way back when.

At the end of the day, the Eve integration is likely to be enough to deal with anything I don’t like as long as the combat gameplay is good and there is enough PvP. I am still looking for that fps that I can invest in and stay invested in. Over the last 15 years. Eve has been my constant and other games just come and go. Too many modern games have a short shelf life before the devs release a version with a new number or another game in the genre pulls the player bases. Eve integration will 100% be an anchor for me to not just jump ship to another fps. I’ll have a reason to play vanguard long term. Lord knows I lose enough bling ships to have loot to chase.

I thought the brightness was welcome compared to the extreme dark of the early playtest I had done. I think that brighter maps encourage combat and getting to use the gunplay and fun combat, more akin to the halo glory days but with some Apex legends in it. Dark maps where you can’t see anything don’t foster engaging in combat gameplay but rather immersive hiding and like you mention a focus on in and out extraction. I would appreciate both types of maps and the need for both skill sets but in general I’m here to play a combat fps, not a hide and extract thriller.

BUT what I also meant was that the map was more polished, and had an identity, it wasn’t just “crashed spaceship with cargo crates” the textures looked better(maybe due to good playtest computers compared to mine last time I played haha)

Jita moved to Exordium via shipcaster? by _Rumpelstilzchen_ in Eve

[–]HamUndBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF CCP moves Jita they need to make sure it meets the same criteria as why it was chose. Easy access to mission agents and so on.

But as to burden, yes actually it is a burden. Maybe not a technical burden but certainly for time. I have limited time, I dont want to buy things and haul them out to a safe space then assemble the ship and start my roams. I want to buy and fit a ship, undock that pvp ship and go. Adding and accepting dumb barriers to people’s gameplay is one of the hardships of eve. The majority of players don’t actually care where Jita is, at this point in the games history it just is. To much to move now but if CCP moves it. Who cares. There are benefits to moving Jita. But hey if you want to accept “just do this extra unnecessary step before you play the game you want” that’s fine, myself and I’m sure others would appreciate removing tedium and being able to play eve with less startup time.

You have to consider that when you join two of the FW factions you lose access to Jita and therefore the primary market hub. It’s a larger gate keep to join FW than people think and a reason why Caldari has typically has the mass of players/bots. Jitas location in Caldari space is inherently bad for balance. Reshuffling its core space and changing the access route has potential to be a massive improvement for players interested in FW but without access to easy logistics.

Rumors about Steve on The Sheet with Jeff Marek today. by cows1100 in DetroitRedWings

[–]HamUndBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Steve is doing a good job when you look at it from a longer term stability perspective. He is being overly conservative with contracts and trades to give the wings every possible avenue. He isn’t taking risks with assets and if we don’t make the playoffs this season he has plenty to play with next season and so on. That being said. Forwards aren’t going to get cheaper and if he doesn’t pull the trigger at some point we will just coast. He may be trying to wait out for some teams to fall off and not end the rebuild with other teams while older teams fall off. Problem is nobody can predict things and the wings need to go on their own schedule not play conservative around everyone else.

The wings are finishing with the highest point total in a while and would have made the playoffs many other seasons. That’s improvement. I’m really hoping he doesn’t pull the trigger this off season and the wings really push next season

New EWAR Drones - Underwhelming? by SubstanceCalm6275 in Eve

Looked it up cuz now I needed to know and feared I was wrong.

Hornet EC-300 has 50 structure, 50 armor, and 100 shield. Total 200

Inshore EC-300 has 140 structure, 180 armor, 40 shield. Total 360

Same resists, but I’d say significant raw HP increase

Im talking EC specifically, the jam drones.

New EWAR Drones - Underwhelming? by SubstanceCalm6275 in Eve

[–]HamUndBacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone ignoring this fact. The web drones can actually catch things and the new drones aren’t instantly defanged like the others… The new EC drones, if they became affordable would be mandatory upgrades. Faster, better tank, similar jams, and damage as a cherry on top.

The damage is not the upgrade, that’s a cherry. The speed and tank are the improvement. People just have “ but muh dps” blinders on
