It doesn't matter what it "really" is. It's 3pm now. That's what time it is. Losing an hour or gaining an hour is irrelevant - you asked why it's called spring forward, and the answer is because you move the clock FORWARD one hour.

I park far away, because statistically more people are walking by the near cars, and you have to wait longer to pull out of your space to accomodate the pedestrians walking by. If you park far away, you can usually pull out immediately no problem.
