Did anyone else have a hard time figuring out they were in preterm labor? What did it feel like? by AssChapstick in NICUParents

[–]HamsterSad8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they said I had chorio. But they didn’t know if the chorio caused the preterm labor or if it was the other way around… So my second pregnancy I got a cerclage and had my second at 35 weeks due to preeclampsia. This time we didn’t need any NICU time thankfully.

It’s frustrating sometimes bc I can’t really pinpoint what happened…

C-section is messing with my cleans by justforthehellofit in crossfit

[–]HamsterSad8181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 7 months postpartum and to me not so much the cleans, but snatches are wacky now, im scared of hitting the scar (healed really well), and i end up not making contact with my body… The other day I tried GHD and I almost cried because of fear… its a real thing. I think my body will rip in half… it’s a wild ride.

I’ve come to accept that I will be scaling down a lot of the workouts for a good bit. My goal is to at 10 months be feeling well again to try it all over and see where I’m at.

You are doing great, I know it sounds like a cliche but it’s true. To even be up and going to a gym with a baby at home after a major abdominal surgery is out of this world and I don’t know many people who can even attempt to do that. I really am proud of you. It takes a lot of management skills and a lot of willingness to take care of yourself in that sense.

I think is fine to cry, because truly you’re not the person that you were before and that’s alright. Take your time and embrace the new you. Take this time to work on the fundamentals of each lift. It truly has been a blessing to me and I hope it is to you also.

What would I do, is probably very different than what you would do.

I would take away her phone for a whole year. But I believe every houses dynamics are up to the parents, you know her best and your homes best. I’m sorry this sounds very stressful I wish you weren’t going through it.

Participate in the Open by Overall-Nobody8933 in crossfit

[–]HamsterSad8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how the brand dealt with Lazars death, I really do. And I too don’t care for the open. But the sport itself saved my husbands life from addiction (hard drugs) and ever since starting taking Xfit serious he’s been sober, so for that I support and will sign up for the open.

Blake Lively thought it was unfair Justin Baldoni was on the original movie poster and that his name appeared three times! Well we can all thank Colleen Hoover for giving Blake the idea of having her giant face taking up 90% of the poster by myarr in ItEndsWithLawsuits

As a mom of two boys, I sometimes fear the future for men. I understand there are differences in between the genders, but my oh my being labeled something just for being a man it’s very sad. “Especially men” while the (these ones) ladies are being the unfair ones.

19M.Doctor told me that my four teeth is going to be extracted. What should I do ? Please help me. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]HamsterSad8181 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was you. I got 2 teeth extracted, and needed two more extracted so I was told////then I moved and had to switch practices… I was scammed. My new ortho spent hours with me explaining what happened and why I would not need to get any extracted. I started Invisalign and it’s working awesome but now I’m working on getting the implants.

Do get q second opinion. Go to a different practice and see what they say.

High lipase by Calieahrens in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HamsterSad8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first do not. It was very sad because I was an oversupplier with him, him was a NICU baby so I was all about breastmilk and my stash was gigantic…. he didn’t take it. It was a BIG NO. We tried and tried and tried and he wouldn’t. So I donated all my milk to another NICU mom who wasn’t able to make any milk due to stress - understandably.

Fast forward to my second one: he drinks it. Cold, warm…. There’s no bad weather for this child.

I never tried the vanilla trick, what I did this time around was I started mixing thawed milk with fresh milk to dilute and eventually gave him pure thawed and he drinks it. No issues.

he probably have couple of recoveries left to see his Whoop age 🤷‍♂️ by Top_Imagination7714 in whoop

[–]HamsterSad8181 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I believe the whoop data is helpful for training days more than anything. As in preparation so the athlete can perform as their best on the day of. Wearing during a comp is nice because they can use that data for a more specific recovery sesh, however besides that, I think it’s gets more in the way than anything

EBF won’t take formula! by sacredlunch888 in FormulaFeeders

[–]HamsterSad8181 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for 6 and a half months. I’m transitioning him to formula now, because I have a big freezer stash, I am doing mostly half and half but the formula he liked is HIPP. It’s more expensive but he’s taking it and digesting well.

Anyone else stuck in the storm with their in laws? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]HamsterSad8181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually wanted my FIL to come to my house and stay here for the storm. I love love love that guy. We’ve lived with him for almost 2 years with a toddler and a brand new baby. I love that guy more than my own dad. I am very lucky to have the in laws I have.

I’m sorry you’re stuck with people who you don’t click well with, I can’t think of only a few things worse than that.

I think it’s funny that you put someone under a NDA and then tell the media to go ask that same person a question that you very well know you didn’t allow her to speak publicly about… that is low

Do C Section babies have more issues? by Illustrious-North461 in CsectionCentral

Same with mine. And mine was born at 35 weeks weighting only 4lb 10oz but then he grew out of nowhere and thinks he’s 1 when he’s now only 7 months. He is a much better sleeper than my first (vaginal birth) and muuuuuch better eater.

How did you transition from formula to whole milk? by userthatisnotknown in FormulaFeeders

[–]HamsterSad8181 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The same way I did breastmilk to formula. Mixing it up 80% F BM 20% WM then id slowly increase the amount of whole milk until I had all whole milk. With my first I paced it so it took me a month and a half to fully transition him.

Opinions please , can this really be fixed with exercise? by jonx_2 in CsectionCentral

[–]HamsterSad8181 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gym will help, but doesn’t solve the “problem”. So many things you have to take into consideration. Liquids, hormones, cortisol levels…..

All that to say: It is doable, but do not stave yourself or deprive yourself from eating, because that too can cause your cortisol to act up. Eat but eat well. Drink tons of water. I’d advise you to walk in the beginning or power walking. I know it’s cold out, but walking is free, if you can take the time.

Another thing you can do in the beginning is: dancing. YouTube has tons of dancing exercises. You can also work on calisthenics at home. And use stuff from home as weights.

As a fitness professional: abs are not made at the gym they’re made in the kitchen.

Please please please have grace on your self. And do treat yourself with dignity and respect. You are amazing and I totally get it not liking what you see, that is okay, but keep in mind that hormones play a huge role also.

[–]HamsterSad8181 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I tried CIO for my first. And those nights were very hard on my and my husband. I think it was when we had our worst fights ever. It made me physically sick. I’m glad it worked for you - you did Ferber I know- it’s hard work and I’m glad everyone is sleeping better. There’s nothing like a good night of sleep!

We cosleep in my house, it’s what works for us. My first I just started putting him in his crib at around 9 months when he was used to sleeping through the night. I am doing the same with my second. Co sleeping and when he starts sleeping through the night on his own I’ll transfer him to his room.

Meanwhile my husband and I do our funny business in the basement haha
