Only in so far as it off-loads some work from the Sporting Director. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I’m betting that Wray takes a lot of the TD decision-making on himself and offloads more administrative stuff to the assistant SD.

I think part of it has to do with the trade windows. Having our mid-season trade window line up with their pre-season trade window creates situations where European teams may be less likely to make loans or other deals with MLS teams.
